I only see arena as a way to get better at the main game basically cuz most people crouch in corners cuz they don't know what to do and for someone like me who played back in the day then stopped it'll be a great help to relearn mechanics

i love this podcast but i really wish Giga's engagement was matched, its really noticeable sometimes

that randomizer for quest requirements from the sp tarkov sounds super. would make the experience every wipe a lil more unique and it should easily work in retail eft.

in my mind it was always said by bsg that for arena they started from zero with the netcode, which meant for my that old problems like ultra desync from eft wouldnt transfer over. im on ur side giga, just the existence of the bug is bad news. because its now feels like the netcode of arena is indeed copy paste 😞

I'm more concerned with the gear that players are going to bring into arena. If they can just bring in zabralos and altyns then whats the point in playing arena at all until i've grinded lvl 4 max traders in tarkov. I'm really sick of losing gun fights purely basd of gear and ammunition rather than skill and strategy.

Agree with giga on the desync. Sucked all excitement i had for arena to the point where i stopped playing the main game on day 1 of the tournament. There was numerous examples of desync throughout that entire tournament. I always knew desync was an issue in tarkov but i never realized just how bad it was until we got view points from both sides. Not just once... but over and over and over again

Funny I have been playing SP Tarkov with realism but not traveler I spawn into woods and good the between usec camp and scav bunker with a stock 74 and the LVL 4 plates I clap birdseye off spawn the.n big pipe takes a shot I drop him then last one he shows me blacks both arms and my legs I drop him with my last round in my last ak mag all in the first 30 seconds of my first raid

I bet final day will TOP 100 and do a PvP chaos

The area to area map is same as s.t.a.l.k.e.r anomaly. But the the 9 factions are dynamic making the game feel alive.

SAIN is a great mod to improve the AI in SPT. Mix that with LootingBots, QuestingBots, and Algorithmic Level Progression and you've got the closest to a "live like" experience that I think exists. Solid AI with tons of adjustability, Algorithmic Level Progression makes the early game feel like a proper early game -- no FLIR's or Killa armor on your first raid. Looting Bots and Questing Bots gives bots things to do besides just wander around their zone and occasionally swap rigs.

One suggestion: Add a unique but consistent identifier to the scav talk thumbnails. (Orange border, logo, or something similar) I watch all of these episodes but its not always that i take the time to actively seek them out. Having them be easily identifiable in subscriptions/suggestions would help.

When they started talking about re-writing the netcode it was around the time the Open Source netcode replacement for Unity "Fish-Net" was really gaining traction and support... because of the timing I really thought they were just going to move to this along with potentially reviewing their code to remove variables which didn't need to be replicated to all players (K/D stats, items in bags etc) but it doesn't look like this is the case which is really sad.
