In the animal world, a female bear is called a sow. If she has cubs, she’s called a sow with cubs, not a mother polar bear.

Judging from the size of the walrus & it’s tusks, I’d say the bear made the right decision.

If the bear had any intelligence, it would quickly blind the walrus while staying clear of the tusks and then it could easily have a huge meal.
