Great project. However, while working on a similar project for my wife, I looked at an existing open-source backend on which there are a few Nextjs front ends. This backend brings a lot of the features out of the box while giving the freedom to create a custom front end. For a question of time and features, I'm currently trying WooCommerce, and it works pretty well and is much faster to get running. The key feature for me is to have a smooth checkout and woocommerce provides ways to get Shopify like checkout and payment setup is also a breeze,

Also i was using back then MongoDB Atlas, since i didnt have enough database knowledge back then, and i was not ready to risk a production environment from a customer as a test field. So in this case, learning to use and apply postgresql will for sure help me to grow more into this field, also the paypal/stripe adding is very interesting.
