Finding you through Grace’s panel and so glad I checked your page out! I’m not familiar with Gormenghast but happy for the introduction and these special edition books are so beautiful. Can’t wait to read them soon! Thanks for highlighting and recommending them.

No, I would not forget even if I put it aside for 6 months.
Outside Tolkien Gormenghast is one of my absolute favourite sets, though I really don't like Titus Alone and usually only read the first two. Occasionally I read Titus Alone again but I've never really come to feel it fits.

People who haven't read Gormenghast but likes unusual language and fantasy are missing out.

I have many many copies of LotR and completely disagree with your summary. And it's just a window into the world of Tolkien which is far more wide ranging than Peake.

But that said, the first two books make a masterpiece duoligy. The illustrations in this version are really nice (as are the ones in Folio's earlier set with the illustrated covers - I don't have the limited edition Folio Society as it was too expensive for me).

Didn't like the BBC series much. A hard book to dramatise (line LotR).
