Big cat rescue is not closing

35 of the younger cats to be transferred and what about older cats. What are the plans for them. If they are in good health of have minor problems what are your plans for them Carol ??????

Big Cat Rescue’s facility is closing down, but not the organization. BCR’s 30-year-long effort to pass the Big Cat Public Safety Act is a triumph. Now that cub petting and the big cat exotic ‘pet’ trade are banned, there will be no big cats in need of rescue nor a sanctuary in the near future. So instead of spending a million dollars on a facility going empty (most of whom are very old or sick and won’t live past a few years), the cats will be moved to Turpentine where they will enjoy larger enclosures and STILL BE FULLY FUNDED BY BIG CAT RESCUE. All that happened was a location change to control facility costs. Now Big Cat Rescue can shift their aim to conservation efforts in the wild—where all the problems of poaching, exotic pet trade and cub petting schemes begin! This is great news for both, the cats in the wild and the cats at BCR

She needs to keep the bobcat rehab open as that is a vital service, especially in the research of the disease that is affecting the Florida bobcats and also panthers. Jamie's expertise in this area should not be wasted. Maybe concentrate on this and allow current cats to go to a much better place with a first-class vet hospital and dedicated staff.
