I haven't experienced the slow load speeds embedding the ThriveCart checkout on my WordPress pages. I'm building the pages with Elementor.

First reason. Do embedded if you want to have custom checkout page.

Will you still consider ThriveCart? 🤔

Our contact management software has a shopping cart, however the number one reason we went with Thrivecart is for the sales tax calculation process. I couldn't find anyone who came close to offering what Thrivecart did for that at the price.

We’ve been doing this for over a decade and have no plans to replace ThriveCart or charge additional pricing for our users for what they have access to already.

Congrats on a well produced video, however there is lots of misleading info and (more importantly) incorrect assumptions made in this video.

I’m sure your top priority here is to property inform your audience?

I don’t see any record of you reaching out to speak to us to confirm our business strategy, plans for the platform or what features are coming?...

BTW - they do not integrate with Optimizepress. The integration has never worked for subscriptions (they are not cancelled in your backend once the customer cancels). Second with OPM you can have people extending their account time left. However Thrivecart cannot access the old time, nor can OPM give out the old time. So that's another big limitation.


Another big problem where I don't know if it is solved is: If you tell Thrivecart not to calculate taxes, they include 0% tax, which disables you to use a third party platform for taxes. The thrivecart taxing is simply rubbish - not legal for European Union for any company over 100.000€ turnover. Not sure maybe this is solved by now - but due to above I could not keep on using it.

I'm considering Thrive Cart for their ability to add affiliates. That's probably the biggest bonus for me - even with WooCommerce, the plugin I found to allow affiliates on products was nearly $300... so might as well spend the $495 for a lifetime license to Thrive Cart (WooCommerce product pages are ugly & there's too many clicks for the customer)

You can embed the thrive checkout anywhere so you could put a video on top of the page and do exactly what you're saying you can't.

ThriveCart is adding cart customization in their next update for December 2019. I have been using page styler Reboo to customize my Thrivecart checkout pages, but even that is limited in what it can do. As for the cost, I made back my money on ThriveCart in a single month. The bump offer, as well as the upsells and downsells, played a major part in that. I like it because it was easy to set up and use even for non-techies like me. As I move into Wordpress more, I will need Cartflows and WooCommerce, although Cart2WP has a WP plugin for ThriveCart (I have not tested it yet).

Thanks for making the video Jason! Couple of things that you/your viewers should know (an update being released tomorrow solves a couple of the points here):

1. A new cart-builder and designs are being released. So lots of more flexibility for users.
2. The slow embedding issue you might notice will be solved with that update. I haven't seen that issue on our end, but it'll be a non-issue.


Just thought that I'd pass that along since I'm a long-time user of Thrivecart and are in their user groups hearing about these updates coming!

Do you know for a FACT that after 2 years they will say we need to charge more for the updated software?

As far as what my researches have brought up, MemberPress does not offer any ways to up an upsell, except if you only have one Membership level, you can convert the Thank you page into an upsell page ?

What's the difference between ThriveCart and Stripe ?

Thanks so much for taking the time to be honest. Pretty much every review has been singing its praises. It all eventually felt shady. I came to realize WooCommerce works much better for me with their endless plugins. Many plugins do the same as Thrivecart. So I’m asking them for my money back.

Is this review still applicable? I'll review your videos for an update on thrivecart.

The membership site is on memberpress - which checkout solution would you recommend? Anything else than thrivecart? Thanks in advance

Those Cons sounded like Pros

I am totally frustrated by ThriveCart. They do not update at all. They work on different softwares to make more money. The software still not meets all legal requirements for the European/German Market. New payment gateways which have been promised for over 1 year now - they never came! And why should they? They already have my money. No need to further develop it. Step away from lifetime deals as far as you can if you want do a longterm business.

*2021 UPDATE* I Got it WRONG! #5 - Pricing: They have continued to not only support the software but update it as well. You now have the ability to customize the checkout pages and the load times have improved. Full updated review is in the works. Very happy to be wrong on this one; we still use it every day and don't plan on switching anytime soon.
