None of those, the best is of course Final Fantasy Tactics Advance =D!
ОтветитьI have a special place for the ps1 version in my heart. Having to figure out the game with no Internet help. Weigraf was a pain the first time.
ОтветитьLove the chrono cross music. 😊
ОтветитьAs a child never had a ps1and today I started playing it using duckstation emulator (ryzen 5600/rtx3070) ahaha
ОтветитьGreat video! It covers just about everything.
ОтветитьI would really like to know the emulator and settings used to make the PS1 version look as good as it does here.
ОтветитьThe newer one is not the old one. I strongly prefer the old translation.
ОтветитьI just LOVED getting hit with Shadow Stitch. I want my like.
ОтветитьMy boy playing Dream of the Shore Bordering Another World from Chrono Cross. That song changed my life when I first heard it. Scars of Time OP was so great too. Growing up from SNES to PS1 and PS2...so many great gems. My top games are still Chrono Trigger, FF Tactics, Xenogears and Wild Arms 1.
ОтветитьWar of the Lions settles a bit more with Ivalice aesthetic for me. Mobile main
ОтветитьWhat ps1 emulator would you recommend?
ОтветитьI hate how square hasn't ported this gamelike they did with final fantasy 1 to 6 and tactics ogre? Like why? Why can't they preserve their games? It cannot be that hard
ОтветитьNo gba?
ОтветитьWhy is chrono cross music being played in the back ground lol
ОтветитьThe ability quotes ALONE make the PSX version supreme.
ОтветитьWell, I saw the title and after watching the video I will give my humble opinion on just 1 point about the two versions.
I played FFT when it was released, and its PSP version too (I didn't like it much), and what surprised me was the impeccable quality of the sound of the soundtrack and of the BATTLES especially (when you do a sword, stab, some sacred blow and kill the enemy), this point I HATED in the PSP version, it sounds like bells are horrible, in the PSX version the quality of the fight sounds is much better!
I hope that if one day they make a "new remaster" that they use the PSX audio quality version.
in my opinion the best version is PSX, best quality sound!
Hey man, I really appreciate your videos. I'm hoping you can help me out.
I don't have childhood nostalgia for this. I was a grown adult by the time it came out and I just never got around to it. As a fan of the genre and mature, compelling stories, I've wanted to play it for years. When rumors started circulating of a remake, I bumped it off and played other games. I'm about ready to give up on that remake happening in any reasonable time frame.
So, I'm trying to figure out which version and/or mods to play with for my first playthrough. I'd like to play on my Steam Deck.
My primary goal is to experience the story and remove the cheese and much of the grinding the game is well known for. I'd like it to feel as close to a modern SRPG as possible for QoL features. I loved Triangle Strategy, for example, for how accessible (not easy) it was. It felt a lot like strategy mattered more than just using broken combos. I won't be following any guides and, realistically, my insane backlog won't allow for multiple playthroughs. I'd like a mod that tries primarily to accomplish this. A mod that is invisible and just makes the game feel more modern. I don't need one that makes it feel fresh vs vanilla since I don't have a vanilla experience.
I've done a few hours into both versions of the game and found things about both scripts that I liked and disliked. I've avoided delving further into it because I've managed to avoid spoilers for 20 years and don't want to ruin that now. My concern for the scripts is that the PSX script will just have some poorly translated parts at key moments that take away from the story or that the WotL version will work so hard to couch the language that it'll do the same. I can't look up key moments of the script without spoiling myself so it's difficult to make a call.
Lastly, I also wouldn't call the game sharp and easy to read in either version. I have old eyes. The iOS port seems to be the best in this regard, but precludes me from using mods and even though I have a large iPhone, the screen ends up way smaller than my Steam Deck. I've honestly considered buying an iPad just to play this dumb game, so consider that. I know the various emulators available for PSX and PSP may offer different quality fixes for this problem, so if there's an established "cleanest image" between the two, that's a factor as well.
Again, thanks for your content. I promise I've spent dozens of hours trying to figure this out myself, watching your and other videos comparing but I'm at my wit's end. I appreciate the time and help!
I liked advanced
ОтветитьTime for a HD2D remaster
ОтветитьThe updated version is better. I put over 300hrs in the PS1 version n goin on 150 on the mobile wotl version.
ОтветитьI love PS1 But I Have It on Green Lion GB PRO gaming Console But I don't know how to Download the Mods
ОтветитьWho to play randevous off line , in ppsspp ?
ОтветитьDuckstation is a perfect ps1 emulator. Also, you didn't mention the stretched screen on the psp version. Perhaps you don't care, since the entire video is stretched.
ОтветитьIs in mobile veraion you can recruit Luso & Balthier?
ОтветитьI think the best version of FFT would be the PS1 with the additions of the PSP. I would love to play the PS1 version with the Shakespearian dialogue because that style gave so much more setting to the game that it highlighted the world better than the PS1 localization. I say this because I love Shakespeare. To make it even better, it could keep the skill names and the chants from the PS1.
I am not sure if it has mods like that.
DuckStation now has Nintendo Switch port. Your Switch does need to be jailbroken, which mine is anyway. So now I can bring FFT with me anywhere I go or dock it to the monitor when I'm home. I like the capabilities of Duckstation more than the psp emulators. So ps1 version for me
Ответитьpsp has a hack version that fixes slow issues, i think this is the best version
ОтветитьWhen does fft2 coming out 🤩
ОтветитьThe original (PSX) is still my favorite, and FFT is easily my favorite FF title of the whole series. I must have 500+ hours logged between all of my runs, which can only be matched by my love for Dark Souls (about the same), Warframe (2200+ hrs), and League of Legends (~3000 wins when I quit 8 years ago, so very likely ~2500 hrs)
I have not yet attempted to emulate it FFT, though I do have the software already on my PC--my PSOne (with the small screen attached) still works! I also own the PSP version, though the sound quality and slowdown kept me from playing that one anywhere near as in-depth as on PSX.
I may have to give the emulated WotL version a try. Thanks for sharing.
"Blame yourself, or god." That line hits hard.
ОтветитьPs1 version was never released in the uk, glad I got it as a chipped copy tho so I could play it as it’s one of my fave games ever, I bought war of the lions once it came out over here on psp that would’ve been a lot of peoples first time playing it in the uk. I play war of the lions more as it’s portable. But I actually prefer the old cut scenes lol
ОтветитьI couldn't even get through War of the Lions. Some of the sound was just way too bad for me. Having played the PS1 version so many times, the sounds are a huge part of the experience for me.
ОтветитьPsp version would have been the definitive version had it not been for the frame drops on almost every damn spell. There was a patch for it you could apply manually.... But come on.
ОтветитьMay i ask if the version in psp , psx and android are somewhat different ? Like the story progress?
ОтветитьTbh, I think the PSP port is the best version in terms of presentation, localization, and content. Easy to patch and emulate. Yeah, it has sound effect problems, but tbh I think the PlayStation has as many faults as the PSP version, just in other places (localization problems, bugs, and some real lackluster endgame aside from the Deep Dungeon). Luckily, I'm just going with the PSX version with the LWotL patch for the perfect happy medium. :0
ОтветитьNeed this on PS4 and PS5 and Nintendo switch
ОтветитьMustadio was my favorite, until they added Balthier in War of the Lions. As far as jobs, I always set calculator/arithmetics as my secondary skill on Ramza.
ОтветитьLuso makes WotL the clear winner.
Ответить"Time has come...crash down on the wicked! Meteor!"
"Absorb power in the sky and strike! Lightning Stab!"
these are my reasons.
Mmmmm. Chrono Cross music in an FFT video. Somehow, I'm not mad at all.
Ответитьnothing beats a classic
Ответитьgot fft wotl on my phone
it runs so SLOW
modern devices cant keep up with the sophisticated graphics of the PS1 apparently
also i cant jp glitch so doing all these battles at 1/10th speed is really slowing me down
I own the android version and I couldn't play because as a adult male I find the UI too small to use by fingertip controls, they definitely need to had a joypad on the screen like handheld games usually does.
ОтветитьPs1
ОтветитьThank goodness I played the PSX and PSP versions years ago.I haven't played the mobile/ipad versions yet. The only thing I didn't like about the PSP version was the slowdowns lol.
ОтветитьHere because I wished they remastered or remake this game already.
ОтветитьWotl is better simply because the translation is 100x better . The old English fits the setting better and sounds much more mature for the time period and themes the game is going for.
ОтветитьYou hit on EVERYTHING as usual. I do have it on iOS, it does have a backup and it’s arguably my favorite way to play as I usually load it up anytime I’m flying. I want to say there is a way to sync controller support with say an Xbox controller but not 100% sure. Someone smarter than me (lots of people) can chime in and confirm on that.
Regarding the PS1 sounds, it hurts my soul how they butchered the Lucavi transformations in later versions. The screams of the whaling demons should never be altered.
