Saab Pikes Peak Acceleration

How much Saab is actually left in this car besides the body? Don't get me wrong, this is an awesome car, but what benefits does Saab bring to a car like this??

saab makes a very strong block i mean on stock internals (pistons and crank cams) they can make 550whp and thats thier 2.0 which is what they are using in that saab. But they turned the motor and made it rwd saab are awesome cars but people jsut under estimate them. They dont have the quickest 0-60 time but 60-140mph is a fast climb for these cars.

I wanna see you walk into Saab reservparts center and get stuff for your car engine. haha :P Dont get me wrong its a sweet car but come on. Its not Saab anymore. Its not a car for a family to buy. ;)

no that engine is not orginal anywere. they have built that engine from topp to bottom. and besides its a 1.9 L. only to get the rpm:s :D

No its a 2.0L

It has a SAAB engine, but mounted north-south and mated to a transmission setup from PRODRIVE in the UK as used on the Subaru Impreza WRC cars, probably tweaked somewhat.. ;)

And it is 4wd....

2.0 and 2,3 have same block. Some difference is in pistons and cranks...

@Folonwins 0-60mph is 2.3 seconds.

@SlideMan12 Yes it is the same block,just thicker.The 2.3 cracks while the 2.0 stays together. It is the reason that the 2.0 is preferred in motorsports,it is also the greatest turboengine in the world,the second one is the audi 20v five cylinder. Per Eklund is a great guy,he shook my hand once and signed atleast 4 posters for me.He might look a grumpy old man but he is actually a nice guy. waffe

@kubben1 Correct on all accounts,they use wider gears to handle the torque but otherwise it is a prodrive box.

@liftwaffe I'm afraid slideman is correct buddy! The blocks are exactly the same, no thickness difference! The way the displacement is created is in the stroke of the cylinder. The crank and rods are the only thing in the block that make the 2.3 different from the 2.0 ;-) The pistons interchange, and have no affect on engine size. just compression!
