As a man who is rather fond of a drink, 17 standards isn't that crazy. Its a high amount yes, but, well let me put it to you this way. In New Zealand we have a tradition, basically a holiday, where on the first Saturday of December, you and all your mates buy a crate of beers each, crates are 12 745ml 4% beers. You start at 12pm and must finish before 10pm. Its called crate day, and its a big deal for basically anyone under 30 and over 18. Im not joking, its country wide. Btw it maths out to about 29 standard drinks

I you want to fit in and make the "Borg" you can basically make it mostly water and a little bit of alcohol no one can really tell with the coloring

Baby Borgs we're part of my early 20s experience! We use to take fruit drinks or sodas, chug half, and then refill it with liquor. And yeah, it was easier to bring my sealed mtn dew bottle into the bathroom than covering my drink glass for safety, and as an immunocompromised person it meant that my germs were the only ones in my drink
