Rise - ASEAN 40th Anniversary Theme Song

Soon the 15th ASEAN Summit will be held in October 2009 in Thailand. This is an occasion to reminisce the theme song for ASEAN's 40th Anniversary, entitled "Rise." The song was performed by Singapore's pop artist, Sun Yan Zi (Stefanie Sun), composition by Dick Lee and arrangement by Kenn C.

The ASEAN Summit, by the way, is an annual meeting of ASEAN member states.

Two Summits will be held this year, 2009. The first one was the 14th Summit which was supposed to be held in December 2008 but was postponed due to the political turmoil in Thailand. It was convened from 26 February to 1 March 2009. A second part of the Summit was supposed to be conducted for the ASEAN leaders to meet with other non-ASEAN countries. However, due to the wave of protests that greeted the event, the meetings were cancelled and ASEAN leaders and delegates have to be evacuated for security. The second one is the 15th ASEAN Summit.
