What’s the best aftermarket windshield mount to get it as high up on the windshield to the left of the rear view mirror?

Do you think it's worth spending the extra money for the R8 over the R7?

Would ceramic tint block or significantly effect the radar detector?

I’m still amazed Escort radar detectors aren’t the crème de la crème anymore. I need to replace an old Escort radar detector and am going with the Uniden R4.

At Vortex Radar, which dash cam you use for your front and rear?

the R8 in my real world test out did the R4 in real world hands on laser hits the R4 were I live were there are lots of motorcycle cops who just use laser is toast.

I opted for an R3. It's not the newest, but it has reach. I pick them off over a mile away on the highway. Between that and Waze reports not many issues. Only thing that can be an issue is the motorcycle cops. lol, they are the worst. Luckily, no problems yet.

I don’t live in a good neighborhood am I good to disconnect this every time I park and plug it in the morning again and will my settings always be saved the same or would I have to redo it

I have a windshield tint. Can someone confirm if it’s ok to use the r4 with suction cups on my windshield or will it ruin the tint ?

Ordered the R4 yesterday for $300 new from Amazon. The R8 is going for $699. An extra $300 for arrows? Are they nuts?

I have both R4 and R8, in my options the R4 perform better than R8 though, I travel from Ohio to Florida with my R8, and also travel from Ohio to Boston with the R4, to me the R4 pick up the signal just a little sooner on the hilly or curly highway or road better than the R8 and the R4 still can pick up the signal from behind and side too, if you get use to how the radar work and don't need the arrow, I think R4 is would be the best on the market now

R4 does not detect European Gatso RT4

So I am between the R4 and the R8, i get those on discount so i dont know which one to choose. Also i dont remember but the R4 can’t detect a signal that the r8 can

Found a brand new one on ebay for $550 end up getting it for $520,great price still retails at $700 .
I am taking my R4 back to best buy .
I only paid $330 for the R4.

I have the V1G2 and JBV1. While this is a great setup there are some radar coverage I am missing out on. I am thinking of R4 for photo radar and other low power radar coverage in addition to my V1. 😅 what would you recommend?

I have both. The R4 is a beast. R4 I think has better distance in detecting radar. But you will be looking longer to spot the police. R8 is great with arrows, but I think it falses a little more

When your on the road and your detector blows up, I'm not looking at the arrow to tell from where I'm being painted. I immediately check my speed and slow down, regardless where it's directed from. Save the cash and get the R4,( I have one) it's worth the $300.00.

R4 or Whistler Titan?

For me personally the arrow doesn’t mean much to me. If a Cop sees you speeding they can go after you from any direction.

I dont know if this sounds silly but now that I am primarily using my R4 without arrows in my car, I wonder if I could achieve some directional alerts without arrows by bringing my R3 out of retirement and putting it in the back window while the R4 is pointing out the front

Recently, I decided to buy one more detector and probably the last one for now. I purchased an r8. It is the best detector ever.

One thing i noticed is that some people who did personal reviews complained about the build quality. A couple people said their R8s broke when the suction cup let go and the detector came crashing down and broke. So, i took a 6-inch piece of clear fishing line that you barely see and tied one end to the latch of the sun visor and the other end to the suction cup so, if the suction cup lets go, the whole unit will only fall a couple inches and dangle there till i remount it. Just a little insurance policy

The arrows don't seal the deal for me. It's really simple, if the detector goes off slow down just like you would with any detector. When it stops alerting for a sufficient amount of time you can speed up. If you're being tagged what does it matter where they are at? Unless you would like to wave at them.

I think there are more advantage to the rear-facing antenna other than arrows.

I don’t care about arrows I don’t care about where the source is coming from . When I hear a warning ⚠️ ⛔️ ‼️ I slow down . I keep it simple . $280 new at Sam’s Club

I just got my r4 for 340. got it on ebay brand new

I own a uniden r4. It has scratches on the gloss black front piece facing the road in front of me. Will this negatively impact the performance?

I want an R8 really bad but i just cannot justify spending 700 bucks lol
