I don't even know the names of these "superheroes", which is probably a good litmus for what happens to their movies. If I never even heard of them, I'm likely similar to most people my age that grew up with the obvious ones like Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Hulk, Spiderman, Aquaman, Fantastic Four and then all the character portrayed up through End game.

So far I am batting 1000 ... if I have to ask "Who the hell is ___", then it bombs.

They should have made a Spider Woman (or whatever girl with spider power she was supposed to play) movie with Sidney Sweeney instead and let her pick her own wardrobe this time. I bet a lot of more people would have seen that. I would have seen that..

Kraven was mildly entertaining when he fought Spiderman back in the Lee/Ditko run but he just isn't enough to star in his own movie, just like Morbius and Madame Web.
I mean, if they needed to make a Spider villain movie they could at least have picked some iconic villain people know and recognize like the Green Goblin or possibly Doc Oc.


Kraven would even be a weak villain in a Spiderman movie so why would they think making him the protagonist would work? They keep bringing out characters from the C list when they have access to some really good characters people actually recognize. I really don't understand them at all.

Since you were silent on Kraven being full of crap beforehand, completely missed your chance to kvetch on Joker: the Musical during its production and currently ignoring James Gunn making a clown out of Superman, you can go back to your base form and return to that helicoptering, near weekly crapping on "the black Captain 'Merica" movie. The next big thing and annoucement : New Spider-man movie where we gonna have Miles Morales gonna be the new black spider-man, but will be a black woman and she be gay. And we all gonna be all -ists, -phobes and bigots for not watching that movie.

I saw this coming right when they announced the movie was being made. Not enough people care about these characters. We want Spider man.. that is all.

The biggest mistake Sony always had made imo outside of not featuring Spider Man in their villains films, but there other mistake was not featuring Spider Woman in her solo film imo.

I’m not saying Jessica Drew needed to fight Morbius or Kraven for Sony to be successful, but they could’ve given Jessica Drew her own solo film with her own enemies.

My suggestion would’ve been if Sony didn’t continue the Julia Carpenter path with Sydney Sweeney, then I think they should’ve used Sophie Turner to play Jessica Drew and they should’ve had her fight Dormamu in the film.

I suggest Sophie Turner, for one Sophie is comic accurate height to play Spider Woman.
Sophie is 5’9, meanwhile Spider Woman 5’10, so that’s close enough.
Furthermore I can see Sophie on screen fighting Dormamu given she has fought the same type of villain on screen as Jean in X-Men films.
Personally I think it’s a good fit, just change Sophie’s hair to dark black for comic book accuracy and I think it would be more obvious.

Of course it's dead on arrival! Nobody looks forward to superhero films anymore we've been burnt too many times. Even if one came out that was incredible it would still have a disappointing first week until word got around that it was actually worth watching

They messed up after the first Venom, to be honest Venom was only okay. But at least he is part of the Sinister Six. Then they do morbius which no one gives a shit about. And throw a complete curve ball with madame web, I mean..it was always gonna fail. They could've done something with Electro, Doc Oc, Sandman..just different versions of them but they probably thought they were being 'creative' with new characters. Nope..shit writing is shit writing.

Both Sony and Disney should have never own Marvel in the first place. That’s why these Spider-Man villain films failed and I already moved on from Marvel and Star Wars. Stan Lee is fuming over his grave. It’s sad.

Isn’t there a Spider-Man comic where Mary Jane becomes spider woman? Why can’t they make a spinoff where Peter dies to the sinister six and Mary Jane heartbroken moves on with her life she ends up in the same place Peter got bit and ends up getting bit herself and with her new found powers takes revenge for the killing of her love you could even throw spider Gwen into it. Hollywood writers need to actually read the comics

I can understand how origin stories can be done for villains and anti-villains, but I don't understand how a movie could be done for the Sinister Six if Spider-Man is not in it. There's no way it could have worked.

Just like Disney, if it's a bad idea they'll run towards it with open arms.

I’m going to go into this movie with an open mind. I’ve seen horrible reviews and comments about movies before that turned out to be quite cool and over time the haters turned into fans. Don’t forget that we’re still in the cancel culture era. When a couple of miserable people get together and hate something so many others will hate it too just to feel like a part of a group and to fit in.

A Sinister Six movie would have been cool, but as much as I love the Kraven the Hunter storylines, especially Kraven's Last Hunt, Kraven is not much without Spiderman (or Black Panther, or Ka-Zar). Kraven is great with a hero to be fighting against, but when it is Kraven is up against nonentities who don't have a history, who gives an eff?

Also, waiting for Xray Girl as Spider-Woman in the Spider-Woman movie...

I actually liked it. I watched it on a free movie app mine you so I wasn't giving marvel any money. And I know it's not like comic accurate. But I really enjoyed it compared to any of the other Sony marvel films.

Kraven the Hunter was a good movie. No WOKE and plenty of action.

Finally watched Kraven for FREE on Netflix. OH MY GOD. IDK what’s worse… Madame Webb, The last Dance or Kraven. UN REAL man. Aside from the Ai generated video game style cut scenes the movie is awful. ALMOST SO BAD THAT ITS FUN. ALMOST. I cannot believe they did THREE of these IN A ROW 😂😂😂
