I thought my mixed race black family loved being black until their children started having babies with darker skin blacks it was a problem but if they're mixed race or yt its ok

I noticed thd media pushing interracial dating back in 2010. I thought to myself how does this benefit white people? They are literally 9% of the worlds population. Something is not nit adding up.

On one level I'm legit curious. Would we end up with no dark and no super-pasty people if mixing became the norm; or would most pairings still mostly involve who's handy, meaning places where most people are darker would tend to stay dark (with their paler people assimilating over time) and places where pale people are the majority ending up the other way? It might also lead to a bunch of features we consider 'ethnic' showing up more randomly. The more diverse your ancestors, the more likely you might inherit unexpected alleles.

People talk about Brazil all the time, but Central Asia gives a different example. The mixing of different looking people has been happening there for ages and it's not uncommon to see people with unexpected mixes of features, probably more than Brazil because they never developed the sort of colour labelling that's typical of Latin America.

Depending on if skin tones tend to merge, or behave more like other 'ethnic features' there might still be a community of dark skinned people, but they might have an even less cohesive identity. If being really dark or really light in a mostly medium brown family starts being like being a shiny, it's unlikely a community will exist based around that anymore. If every family tree has darker and lighter people, it'd be hard for those people to insist they're different from their more moderate brown family members. All the more so if traits like kinky hair and coloured eyes also show up at random.

Then again, who's to say colourism would vanish even if the racial components lost relevancy. Or that new racial identities couldn't emerge.

There's no way it'll happen in 20 years though, you'll still be around in 20 years, right? It seems more like something your hypothetical grandkids might need to ask about, but the answer still might be no just because American society remains pretty segregated.

I agree with the sentiment but 20 years? That's way too low a number. There are billions of dark skinned people in the world right now, where would they go in just 20 years? Even the ones in America aren't just going to disappear in 20 years. If anything, make it 80 years, at least.
