This is so real, I don’t know why, but the AP classes are just so… odd. In ninth grade I loved biology and aced the class with minimal effort. The summer after I took a college anatomy class, and while I did have to study for that, the brain anatomy was the only challenging area for me and I still got an A in the class. Soon comes the year I take AP Bio, a class I’ve been looking forward to since seventh grade. It sucks. I have been going through a lot of mental health stuff recently, but even without that o can testify that this class has killed my love for biology. I wanted to become a geneticist since 5th grade, this class can hardly let me hear “the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell” without dying a little inside. You go through a unit in a week or two and instead of going deeper into the why or the how’s of biology, they stuff all of this meaningless information down your throat just so you can take some goddamn test. My passionate hatred for this class is something that my younger self could never understand, but I warn you, you need to be one of gods stronger soldiers to do this class. Even then, if you love learning for the sake of learning, take an actual college class, or study online. AP exams and college board is literally just for college. Additionally volunteering at a hospital. I volunteered in a surgical unit and when people say you need to love it to do it, they mean it. I never believed it, but soon enough it starts eating away at your soul. I have so much respect for the nurses, that job must be soul sucking. Plus the floor I was on was mostly (almost all) frail older people, and some of them have pretty traumatic backstories when you talk to them, don’t talk due to exhaustion and pain, and one of my most scary experiences was when a patient fell and could not ask for help coherently, and guess who was at the desk wondering what was happening on the other side of the line…me! And I kept on thinking it was a mistake so I put the phone down twice when there was basically no noise until I got a nurse to go check on the patient, because I remembered interacting with that patient and kinda freaked. Apparently she hit her head and there was a lot of blood and I wanted to die, because what do you do in that situation? Thankfully she was better (ish?) next week, but I can’t go through that again. Yeah…

I KNOWWW no clue what procrastination demons come over us for those 3 hours 😭
keep on going girl you GOT THISSS! But def try making studying a regular thing for any class really, even half an hour a day can help to just overall understand the lessons/prevent cram studying for exams happening!

I’m in normal physics and I hate it with a passion, I feel like I’m wasting my time and it’s sooooo boring, doesn’t help that my teacher is rude and impatient, I’m happy my school doesn’t let us take ap without the normal class first otherwise I’d be in ap physics crying my eyes out rn🙏
