The CBS version was nice but the Syndicated version from 1978-1986 and 1990-1991 stands out for me.
ОтветитьHmm...I thought the minimum age was 18 for TJW.
ОтветитьI wonder how many Joker Jackpot fails there were... (Champions that went for the Joker's Jackpot, only to lose, and won no prizes at all due to Satan.)
ОтветитьWow, I never knew Johnny Gilbert from Jeopardy was an announcer on Jokers Wild. I remember Charley O'Donnell and Jay Stewart, who used to "growl out" everything, and pronounce "it's" as "Atz". ("Atz a Noooooo Carrrrrrrrrrrr!")

ОтветитьWas the syndicated TJW the first syndicated game show to use returning champions?
Ответитьi used to love this show as a kid. at one time in the early 70's a young college student named bob chinicello (chin-a-cello) was briefly the biggest winner in game show history. he told a story about calling his mom and telling her of all of his winnings. she replied 'are you drunk?' all these years later i still remember his name. my cousins and i would watch the show everyday at our grandmother's house and cheer him on.
Ответить"My fantasy from cbc television-city studio-21 in millerville-city here's the game where knowledge is king & lady-luck is queen it's the joker's wild & now here's the host of our show jack-barry".
ОтветитьCan you come back tomorrow? It really was, "can you stick around a few minutes so we can tape tomorrow's show?" I would have loved for someone to have said "No Jack, I can't come back tomorrow, I have to be in court to testify at a murder trial!"
ОтветитьThe current slot machine sound effect made it's debut here
ОтветитьTy for sharing
ОтветитьJohnny Gilbert had to be just graduated HS to be working here and still doing Wheel of Fortune as of 11-9-2023!
ОтветитьWhy is everything else in color except the host? So strange
