Top job! John
ОтветитьThese sure came out pretty!!!👞❤
ОтветитьWhat are those boots in the background?
ОтветитьWith the gaiters!
ОтветитьWhat kind of stitcher machine do you use to sow those shoes?
ОтветитьWhat are the names of the different tools you use?
ОтветитьI really enjoy watching your restorations. You both have given me much insight on how shoes are built up and am even more looking foward to September of this year, as I will be attending a summer course for shoe-making at Accedmia Riaci in Florence at the "ripe age" of 58! I am hoping to start a new career as a Cobbler/Shoemaker and finally being able to get up mornings and go to work with a smile on my face!
Anyway great videos guys and keep the old traditions going, because I truly believe all the old "stough" is making a slow, but steady comeback. Best wishes to you both from an Italian-american ex-army veteren living in Deutschland: God bless America!!
I really enjoyed watching this video. These shoes came out real nice.
ОтветитьMan.. I love watching you guys clean up old shoes but you wouldn't catch me dead in a pair of shoes like this. I feel like walking around with Legos glued to my feet might be more comfortable.
ОтветитьG'day and greetings from Tasmania Australia I really like watching how you repair shoes and boots but I don't understand why you would brown or dye the sole when as soon as that is worn they will get scuffed up scratched, you name it. Anyway love the channel kind regards John
Ответитьwhen your paying for a pair of Ferragamo's, or Louis Vouitton's, Gucci's , Christian Louboutin, Jimmy Chou's and such, your also paying extra for the name.
ОтветитьQuestion, when refurbishing a shoe is it possible to reduce the size by .5?
ОтветитьI enjoy all of your videos. The shoe shinning part is the most gratifying one. I had to shine my boots when I was in the US Army. It takes patience to get a good shine!!!
ОтветитьFerragamo's "Tramezza" line is great. Goodyear welted, great leathers and sometimes even invisible channel soled with fudging/wheeling on the welt. Still overpriced, but if you can find them on sale they're a great bargain. The rest of their stuff is indeed hit or miss to glued-on overpriced junk.
ОтветитьHow much does a job like this go for
ОтветитьI have some Edward greens i need done
ОтветитьTrenton , I can tell by your eyes that you had enjoyed few glasses of bourbon last night :) awesome restore again !
ОтветитьYou have 2...40 minute That play before your video... If that's your format..
last time for me..👎
I have the impression that , a repaired used shoes looks much better than the new ones.
ОтветитьHow much does a restoration like this run, for a similar pair of Salvatore black oxfords?
ОтветитьRare to see great American craftsmen and their trade. You see this less and less. We used to be a country of craftsmen who made the best quality stuff. We need to bring this back.
ОтветитьHow does the quality of JR leather soles compare to Tioga Oak soles?
ОтветитьIs a Roy Robson a good shoe
ОтветитьAmazing!!
ОтветитьWhat glue thinner do you use? I'm curious -- is it acetone? I am a big fan of your work and have seen plenty of your wonderful videos, but this is the first time you mentioned the fact that the liquid sprayed onto the existing sole before removal is actually a glue thinner. Thanks, Peter.
Ответитьi also watched your video about the list of brands that are not good. you include there the Florsheim.. my question is what are the top 3 brands you can recommend. 3 that are very expensive. and 3 that are on the midrange when it comes to price.
ОтветитьHi Trenton, after applying the white cream on the upper, how long do we wait before applying the black wax?
ОтветитьWhy do you make the sole twice as big and then cut off what you don't need on the shoes, can't you make it exactly to measure
ОтветитьSalute to you for an absolutely wonderful restoration.
ОтветитьOne thing I have found to keep my nice shoes nice is to 1) keep them in shoe socks made of a soft fabric, and 2) use shoe trees. Not only do shoe trees keep your shoes form fitted but they also keep them from getting that weird 'toe upturned' look. The shoe socks keep them from getting beat up if you just toss them in your closed after wearing them. Also, keep your shoes conditioned and shined.
ОтветитьJR Soles
ОтветитьShoe restoration should not be the subject of more than 5 videos. Ur basically doing the same things for all shoes. So why do u keep producing more and more videos?
Ответитьgooooooooooooooooood
ОтветитьWhat are your thoughts on a cobbler who just ground out the old sole to a couple of mm thin then glueing a new outsole?
I was expecting the way you did yours on this video And I was not satisfied with this cobbler that did my shoe
No hot cork!!!!!! Bummer
ОтветитьLove Ferragamo have several as well as Bruno Magli, Sutor Mantellasi, and Cesare Paciotti. CP are especially high quality with all the bells and whistles. Lots of details....hallmarks of the good stuff.
ОтветитьMost Italian style shoes are blaked! I have five sets of boots that are super stylish. So far I have had two converted to Goodyear welts. They are impossible to re-purhase and I am super particular when it comes to footwear. I used Brian the Boot maker. There was no one I could find in the UK where I live willing to convert them. It takes such along time to get them back that I've learned to do it myself! I've watched dozens of hours of T&H videos it's better than going to cobblers college. You rapidly find out what works and what doesn't! And what bits they don't always show you in the videos! Thanks guys :)
ОтветитьWhat do you guys use for air fresheners in your shop? I can imagine some of those old shoes smell pretty bad!
ОтветитьThe Tramezza line of Ferragamo shoes is the one with the very high quality classic men's shoes. The rest are disposable fashion shoes.
ОтветитьDecent 👌🏾👍🏾
ОтветитьTop-shelf cobbler you 2.
ОтветитьDo u use an electric buffer?
ОтветитьUse to wear nice shoes, but now with neuropathy I ‘m stuck w/sandals.
ОтветитьFound some of these older videos. Love the progressions you guys have made. Excellent resole and finished product. Blessings
ОтветитьWho would've thought shoes 👞 tells history? My shoes tells me history like my watches ⌚️.
ОтветитьWhy do you remove the edge of the new sole.
ОтветитьMy father had a shine caddy when we were kids. It folded and was attached to the kitchen pantry door. Almost every Sunday night I would shine my school shoes on it. I’m on this hunt for another one!
