The Meletron on this Album was left behind by John Lennon, after the recording of Sgt. Pepper.
ОтветитьIt the masterpiece
ОтветитьGreat record in fact I’m curious to know which critics were indifferent to its obvious merits. I’d thought
the lacklustre reception was due to the band splitting before they toured and promoted it
I added comment just to be 667 in a row, it was not polite to see 666 comments 👼
ОтветитьTo be honest, other than the hit song it is on the tepid side. You would think with a name like The Zombies and that cover art, it would be more lively but it is very, very soft. Not bad songs but they could put you to sleep.
ОтветитьThe full album puts 'Time of the Season' in perspective - but "Time' is still the best song, a classic of the 60s.
ОтветитьWake up and listen to this great album...
ОтветитьWhat BS music. Sounds like AI generated crap
ОтветитьSgt who?
ОтветитьI will listen to this album a few more times. Nice finding ahead of the weekend 🎉
ОтветитьUp there with pet sounds
ОтветитьIs this a re-recorded version?
ОтветитьCet album est magistral .
Il a influencé tellement de groupes de rock après lui
Kinda sounds like BEACH BOYS with British accent
Ответитьrecords like pet sounds are lauded way beyond their merits when this one is so much better and doesn't receive anywhere near the attention
Ответитьthis is awesome, never heard it before,!
ОтветитьI love the Zombies and Argent.
ОтветитьThis is not underrated by music lovers. The work still shines as brightly as it did on its first release. A classic. Much loved.
ОтветитьShe's Not There was a masterpiece of the 60s.Even Santana thought so.
ОтветитьTime of the Season is infinitely better than every other song on this album, easy to see why it was a hit.
Ответитьjust knowing the brilliant singles i always bet they had other great music in them. This first track is blowing my head off…wow…after one track I am already thinking this is the Great Lost Album. Beatles AND Beachboys. maybe beats bad finger as the first powerpop record
ОтветитьCan't believe I didn't listen to this back in the 60s, this is the first time I've ever heard this album and have to admit it's absolutely awesome 👌
ОтветитьNot sure whats that "exceptional" about this record. Certainly not better than the Sgt.
Ответитьok for flaked out seductophiles
ОтветитьAlbums like sgt pepper and pet sounds really pushed the boundaries of album making with so different tapestries of sound and themes and illusions ✌️❤️
ОтветитьSuch a rip off of 'For No one' by The Beatles.
ОтветитьI use to think Radiohead copied The Beatles, now I realize it's the Zombies who influenced them greater.
Ответить👍👍
ОтветитьIt's a well done album. It has great melodic and harmonic content. However, it's, stylistically, an imitation of The Beatles. Of course The Beatles had huge commercial success, and when that happens, imitators jump on board. And, the public act like a herd (especially kids) so they buy the same thing en masse. Hence the Zombies sounding like an homage to The Beatles. Some of the songs have McCartney written all over them, stylistically.
ОтветитьSuch a great album. A contender to the classics that came out during its time.
ОтветитьThis is my first time listening to it and its obvious why it didnt go anywhere. Its a combo of the The beach boys Pet sounds and the beatles Stg pepper. No doubt that is how it was received upon its release.
ОтветитьThis compares favorably to other better known psych/pop albums of the era, like 'Sgt. Pepper' and 'SMiLE'. I think the keyboard player went on to form the band Argent, of 'Hold Your Head Up' fame.
ОтветитьAbsolutely fantastic album
ОтветитьNot a big 60s music guy generally (wasn't born until the 90s) but this album, forever changes by love and the beach boys pet sounds i absolutely love. Happy sad from tim buckley too and the Beatles magical mystery tour. Jefferson airplanes surrealistic pillow. Thinking about it i like quite a few albums of that era 🌞🐢
ОтветитьWhat if the Beach Boys were an English band! So good!!
ОтветитьA music masterpiece! should be in the rock& roll hall of fame!
ОтветитьA superb álbum ...But Care of Cell, A Rose for Emily and Bruef Candles are true jewels
ОтветитьBrilliant Album!👍🤓🎸
ОтветитьFine fine stuff
ОтветитьA combination of Pet Sounds and Rubber Soul with hypnotic melodies unique to The Zombies
ОтветитьThis is an incredible psychedelic album. Glad I discovered it today. ❤❤❤
ОтветитьI dont get it. I only like time of the season. It's like night and day compared to the other songs. Timeless song awesome
ОтветитьPaul wellers favourite album of all time
ОтветитьI'm still looking for an album where all the songs are fabulous. I've never found it, but this one at least approaches the ideal. Well done, Zombies! I especially like "A Rose for Emily" and "The Butcher's Tale". That one has just one instrument backing the vocals. The group was not getting along while they were making this, so it is an accomplishment. I just wish they had double-checked the spelling of the title.
ОтветитьTimeless music and feel !!!!
ОтветитьThe first track is very reminiscent of Happy Together by The Turtles.
ОтветитьQua grazie a Federico Frusciante
ОтветитьI cry to hear such astounding music. I only discovered the whole thing in the mid-80's, when it was universally recognized as perhaps the 3rd best rock record ever, behind Pet Sounds and Sgt. Pepper. Brilliant music moves me to tears more often than common emotionality ever would. This is real and raw.
