ОтветитьThis is a phd-worth of a video
ОтветитьThank you for making this video! I am using it as a reference in my Akira themed sound design course :D I really appreciate all of the effort and I know my students' brains will MELT and ooze out their ears when they click your link ;)
Ответитьkerennn❤❤❤ love Indonesia🎉🎉
Ответитьsaya yakin orang Indonesia sendiri gak akan bisa menjelaskan hal seperti ini dengan detail dan mudah di mengerti😂, mungkin hanya dengan kata paham saja gak cukup
Ответитьalong with jazz and death metal and marching drums I couldn't be more impressed by the players
ОтветитьGreat video! Really helped me with a research/experimenting with music project I'm doing for school. My plan is to make a Gamelan version of Everything in its right place by Radiohead :)) All the animations, midi representations, layering really made it easy to understand and engaging.
ОтветитьI fell in love with this music especially after playing in an ensemble under Pak Nyoman Wenten and this video has helped me flesh out my knowledge of the terminology a lot!
Edit: if anyone has any tips on practicing Sangsih, I will be eternally grateful
I’m preparing for my trip to Bali where I intend to spend about four weeks… I read the history of Bali… The political history of Bali… Architecture… Religion… Philosophical aspects… And of course, the history of music in every day life… I just finished a very complex book on the musicality of Bali… And then I saw your video! … What you covered was basically the equivalent of me reading a 400 page book lol I cannot tell you how helpful and how enlighten your video is and I really appreciate the effort that you put into it because it definitely shows… Thank you so much.,,
ОтветитьBravo to you, the programmers, and the musicians, Augustine! I really enjoyed the explanation. I've been listening to and watching gamelan since 1975. You and this "team" have made a worthy contribution to the music world! Thanks!
ОтветитьThank you 🙏🏽
Ответитьwow I just recently found gamelan music, changed my life. This video is amazing! I appreciate you for putting it together!
Ответить👍👍👍👍
ОтветитьGambelan bali ada banyak
ОтветитьFantastic video.
ОтветитьAmazing video
ОтветитьThat is really an ombak, literally "wave"
ОтветитьHi, i'm balinese and a gangsa player. And i can say, your explanation is a TOP TIER, even i just get a lot of detailed information from you ... awesome work brother...
ОтветитьThis is mindblowing. I've loved gamelan music since I first heard it as a kid in Bali. More recently I was watching videos and thought "they can't be playing all of those notes with one mallet, so they must have to syncopate and play them separately", and this video confirmed that with the section on interlocking patterns. It looks really really difficult! Especially the sangsih part, that must take a lot of practice, jeeeez. Thanks for the informative video.
ОтветитьAgustine ..,you the best theacer ,can explain in detail ,..,good job .,you are the best.
Ответить❤❤❤❤👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻🙏🏻
ОтветитьGood animasi gambelan
ОтветитьBaru sedikit paham, memang animasi mampu memvisualisasikan dengan baik. Metode rekonstruksi nya tepat dengan animasi. Tks
ОтветитьImagine playing Gamelan Hero on hard mode.
ОтветитьI'm writing an essay on balinese gamelan music and it's influence on western composers. This video is an absolute lifesaver!
ОтветитьWonderful and very informative video, thanks!
Ответитьcan you make a video on how balinese ga,elan ended up this way? Like its origins, history and influences that made it become so fast
ОтветитьI'm a Javanese who learned to play Javanese gamelan, but was interested in how to play Balinese one. This video is interesting
ОтветитьThank u!
ОтветитьI discovered Gamelan music through King Crimson's music. Fripp's best patterned creations have similar parameters to Gamelan.
I am incredibly delighted with Gamelan. It is the best example of how to get closer to nature through mathematics. Absolutely incredible music.
Thank you for the video, I learned a lot and am glad that my brain is hungry for such music. Because not everyone will really like it. All the best to you.
Terima kasih mas bule❤
ОтветитьOm Suastiastu,minggu 16 maret 2025.
ОтветитьThis video is the best mentor and education for Balinese gambelan instruments, I appreciate, and thanks for the man who created this video
ОтветитьInsanely inspiring! Well done, sir!
ОтветитьWhat an incredible video! The algorithm blesses me today. Amazing visualizations really help the western ear understand this better. I'm always struck by the metallurgic beauty of these instruments, all their intricate variety.
ОтветитьWhen I read the title I though "well obviously they just have a bunch of players so it sounds fast." But now I see only two players can make an incredible piece. Great video!
Ответитьthis music is just so amazing and deeply spiritual for me. After few days arriving to Bali, Ubud, there happened to be a ceremony at a river temple behind my house. I was totally enchanted by the music. So hypnotic, so otherworldly.
ОтветитьGreetings from Bali, I'm from East Bali
ОтветитьOmbak😮😮😮😮
ОтветитьThank you so much for this amazing video. It’s not only very pedagogical but just simply fascinating. Gamelan has to be counted as among the greatest musical achievements of humankind.
ОтветитьVery excellent video I've ever seen
ОтветитьHow the fuck do humans play this shit. You can’t even get skilled horn players to come in at the right times
Ответитьmost complex the part of gamelan is reong. and the most the hard to play for avarege balinese people is kendang.
ОтветитьThank you for sharing this video. It's not easy video editing and it explain perfectly about how to play Balinese Gambelan.
