one of my friends used to ride a freeboard. it's like a longboard but with two addidional wheels that spin 360 degree.
it rides more like a snowboard and it is actually quite fun to ride. but you need to get your brain into snowboarding mode which isn't very easy to do when you're on a paved road in the summer.

By the way, I found an interview with Mr Drehobl where he stated that he used a plastic replica m16 rifle to make the "AK47" board. It was for KOTR (The King of the Road Trip) 2003.

He goes into further details about it's construction in the interview, just google "dan drehobl gun skateboard" and you can find the chrome ball blogspot.
