Loved listening to you Yao about this topic. I’m always thinking about who gets invited to the events and I think you’re making valid insights into the who’s and how’s of it all.

I mean, I remember you did a video decluttering your I wanna say glam room.
You had a ton of PR packages that you never opened.
You had a ton of products that you never reviewed.
Why would brands invite you if you won't even review their products?

I feel like it could be your age… and I’m your age… but most of us grew up watching you from Highschool to college to now. These girls that are going on brand trips are in there 20s or (subconsciously) hiding that they are in or near their 30s. Seems like brands are primarily interested in influencers that have followings that are ages 26 and below. Even though you have the following, how old is that following? Im assuming since a lot of us have been here for years we’re pretty mature in age. Either way you’ve come so far just by doing things your own way and staying in your own bubble. But I hope you decide to play the game and reap the benefits.

I feel like Texas makes women think they're so much older than they are lol. Raven's talking like she's a senior citizen when she's just entered her 30s. There's so much opportunity, even in front-facing career paths like influencing and celebrity...she's just gotta get out of that prematurely-old Texas thinking.

Sept 17th Virgo here] honestly YOU actually DO deserve the opportunities that some creators are getting. As an outsider I can freely express that it is rather odd to see events without you apart of them. It’s like there’s a seat at the table waiting for you when you are ready.. and you will not have to compromise to be there either.

Yes, Austin is a mess ..(I’m currently here ) But something is telling me that it will be a very different place in the next 3years .. (idk who knows) the struggle is feeling like you have to ‘choose’ when there are so many different parts of you.. I think although that makes it a challenge it puts you AHEAD of your time. Everyone wants to influence but very few are BRANDS of their own.. that will be the future of partnership. I think as you continue your podcast audience and continue to speak on EVERYTHING you will dominate in more ways than one because people will want more than your face (which also eats) BUT it will be your audience connection and HOW you connect ..that brands would want to attach themselves to. ❤

I listen to your podcast on apple most of the time and so I came here to leave a comment. First of all, thank you for being that vulnerable, I completely understood what you were saying. I think that even though you gearing more towards an exit, before you leave, I think that you should get a taste of that side of life that you missed. Maybe after doing a few big events or a big brand trip, it may be out of your system, you can check that you did it or you may like it and want to keep attending said events who knows but I think that you should go for it. You deserve to be in those spaces if you so choose.

You're a different lane. A point to note, a lot of these girls just have the brand deals and trips but nothing else to show for it. You in the other hand, have bought two properties and making this opportunity a business opportunity versus a short term investment because they do fall off

I love that you were so open and honest about how you feel and what you’re going through. Your feelings are so valid and a lot of what you’re struggling with are problems related to being a neurodivergent woman. But go after everything you want. The lord gives you the desires of your heart and as long as you’re living and breathing you have the opportunity to do whatever u want. Rooting for you!

Girl you ain't saying nothing but a thanggggg😂 I have one particular social media friend that I really like but boy I feel jealous when I see their posts. I am creative and a diyer this person does what I do but they pay for it, and it always looks more professional and put together, and I don't like it sometimes. They also seem to be the type of organized that I aspire to be, the energy, mindset (occasional depression) just don't allow a constant I dotting and t crossing. In fact, I get tired just thinking about having to be on point like that and pre prepared like they are. Am I capable....I know I am but I be in a battle with my bed not wanting to stop cuddling me some days 😢. They make me disappointed in myself because in my mind, I am "better" because I have the talent and personal know-how. If I were at my optimal, they couldn't shine a candle. I don't want it to dim for them or for others that like them as well, I want it to dim for me. Like please shine less 'cause I'm over here struggling!!!!😂 Girl thank you for this because I thought I was a bad person for having those fleeting thoughts.

Girl, don’t trick yourself into thinking you’re jealous. jump on the bandwagon for a trip or 3, fulfill your Fomo real quick and before you know it, you’ll be over it fast anyway. You don’t seem like the type to do all the extra work to stay relevant in that way. It sounds exhausting and no way can real happiness come from all that. Those influencers are probably saying the same thing about you in secret and they want to be on your level. Authenticity matters and you have it.

Do you think it’s the kind of content you create? I notice a lot brand trips are makeup/ hair care brands. Your content seems more DIY/event planning/parenting focused. I would fly out to certain events also because it’s an opportunity to network for the next event

Thank you for sharing this! I think your 30s is a very reflective time period of your life. I totally understand where you are coming from. On the outside looking in you made the best decisions for yourself at that time. You have crafted an amazing group of supporters and content. In the future I see you as being the celebrity that other creators are trying to get next to. Your content can easily transition into an HGTV or MTV show where you are planning events and parties for celebrities or non celebrities. Your reflections and revision of your dreams and goals will lead to new heights for you. ❤

Raven I think you need to appreciate how multi facetted you are you’ve established yourself as someone who can do it ALL and I promise you the minute you get back into beauty and fashion you’re gonna reengage that part of your audience and grow more, thank you for not just being another influencer doing literally nothing give absolutely nothing but the ability to make people eye roll. Raven pls move to LA, rebrand your content and lean into your beauty privileges, lifestyle etc get outta your comfortable ways of interacting with pple & make industry "friends", Date an athlete i know you want too (hehe) Rebrand as a "personality vlogger" DO IT FOR THE PLOT, its not too late. I used to watch you back in the days but i stopped cos i didnt relate to your diy content i'm more into "pretty girl" content

This makes sense! And I’ve definitely felt that sense of envy and desire before. I think once you decide if you care to move forward, make sure you reframe your mind to think of things more positively bc that also can affect reaping what you sow! You made the right decision. I watched you for years. And yet you stayed relatable.. humble.. and honest.. meanwhile I unfollowed a lot of influencers because over the years they became fake and out of touch.
However I do understand the feelings. Even in my normal job I felt the same. I saw my college friends get better jobs and higher salaries not for their talents but because they know who to be friends with while “honest introverted me” couldn’t suck it up and fake it and be friends with people I didn’t wanna be friends with.
But you know at the end of the day it’s never too late.. you’re really talented and you are some who should be on red carpets .. never hurts to try .. and if you ended up not liking it then now you know for sure ❤

I felt this 😪 i passed up so many opportunities too and im that influencer in the middle of mn lol but i needed this because i was feeling this same way knowing i blocked my blessings by not showing up sometimes ❤
