Tbh the same people obsessed with saying “chicks” is “diminutive” towards women are the same people who can’t go up to a group of women without addressing their gender. Hearing some creep say “hEy LaDiEs” makes me cringe way more than a group of women calling THEMSELVES “chicks” 🤷🏻♀️
ОтветитьThe band received the blessing of the Chicks, a New Zealand duo, to share the name.
ОтветитьNothing but mad love and respect for these brilliant women! ❤❤
ОтветитьLove and miss these ladies.
Welcome back you were missed
Still waiting to see what (if anything) Lady Antebellum does.
ОтветитьNatalie is a loud mouth bitch that's unapologetically herself, and I'm totally here for it. I've always loved her and I always will. The Chicks can do no wrong. For me, their music is so nostalgic that it brings me to tears. Music is really for the soul and these ladies are doing it right! ❤❤❤❤
ОтветитьAnd i drop them...
Ответить👍Bravo Ladies!!!💙😷🇺🇸🌊🇺🇸🌊🇺🇸🌊
ОтветитьNo one cares. who are these people.
ОтветитьGive into the pressure...
ОтветитьMy husband is not a country fan and used to eye roll my fandom a bit. Well, "March, March" is now one of his favorite songs and with the name change and exposure to these women and their thoughtful personalities, he is now much more open to other country music in my collection.
ОтветитьTalent, beauty, grace, courage. I am a HUUUUUGE fan, Ladies...oh, Chicks!!!!
Ответитьthey sucked before the name change and they still do.
ОтветитьThe chicks sounds like a group when I wax 13 years old, they were boys they ere called los chicos.
But just alone without the story I don’t like it much, I would call it just DIXIES.
I don’t find ofended by the name CHICKS I just don’t like it, but very funny Spicer, THE sounds too much like duh! Then I would be offended.
These ladies are so classy. They didn't do anything wrong, all they said what they were embarrassed that Bush was from same state as they were. Republicans canceled them just for that. They were called all kinds of names. Republicans are so hypocrite, what happened to free speech. BTW, the damn war that your boy Bush started is still going.
Ответитьlove dixie chicks, awesome songs!
ОтветитьLove The Chicks. Oh, that sounded awkward. I like The Chicks.🔥😷
ОтветитьI love The Chicks so much. I hope part of them wanted to be petty and change their name to "vindicated".
ОтветитьA little disappointed that the girls did not mention the fact that the name
The Chicks' originally belonged to 2 New Zealand musicians (sisters) who had a successful career in the late 60's and 70's. It was the local news here that The Dixie Chicks had requested rights to the name ,which was humbly granted. Wikipedia :
Musical group- THE CHICKS
were sisters Judy and Sue Donaldson. Both girls were born in Wellington
in 1950 and 1952 respectively. They moved to Auckland at an early age
and were brought up on a farm in the Huapai district.
I love to them back!
Ответитьglad to see them back at it again!
Ответитьits progressive, not liberal to oppose war
Ответить30 years 🙂 strong beautiful ladies ❤️ the chicks
ОтветитьWe’ll probably never know all the ways that Bush 1&2 screwed us.
ОтветитьI still know them as Dixie chicks. Idc
ОтветитьShould have gone by F. Bush.
ОтветитьIts so disappointing that these girls who did something so courageous and defiant in regards to the George Bush comment and the song they wrote in response to the controversy and hatred, ended up wimping out and capitulating to fear and pressure from SJW's over the association of their name to the negative history points of the South. Their name is a positive example, not a negative reinforcement of the history of the South. They totally lost their balls. How disappointing.
ОтветитьThank goodness none of those potential names stuck. You girls will forever be the Dixie Chicks.
ОтветитьKeep DIXIE in your name.
ОтветитьLiked them a lot as a kid but wow! The love, respect and appreciation I have for them today as an adult….everything! I support the chicks!!!
ОтветитьCancel culture started with republicans? I’m never voting red again.
ОтветитьThey’re still sexy af!
ОтветитьConservatives: The left wants to cancel everyone. We support free speech!
Dixie Chicks: You serious?
Cant deny the talent with this group.but considering their stance on issues so see ya!!!
ОтветитьCantri
ОтветитьThe spoke the truth and they were right. So happy for them to be back cause they are soooo good!!
ОтветитьI 💜 Natalie Maines! AND Let Me Just Add That Until The 2020 Election, I WAS Ashamed That The President Was From Flor-Duh!
ОтветитьThey will always be called Dixie chicks. Texas is in the heart of Dixieland. You gals are from Texas. Duh!
ОтветитьNat was unpopular in school because she attended in a conservative community and consistently argued with students about Gay and Minority rights. Her entire life being the better person has caused her backlash. That's why she was never phased by "fan" backlash.
ОтветитьI love love love these beautiful ladies. When will you get them back??
ОтветитьI never realized how much the sisters look alike
ОтветитьThey should've kept making music they lost the country fan base but gained the attention of everyone else
ОтветитьLove these compassionate. Intelligent. Strong. Powerful women. I went to their live concert in BendOR with my three sisters. We danced we laughed. We sang. We cried! We yelled!!! They were so amazing. I’m in awe of them!!! And they blew the place away! I felt a kindred spirit with Everyone there at the show!!!😍😍😍😍😍the Chicks speak for me and I Thank them for that voice!! (I also can brag that Natalie’s Dad, Lloyd Maines/plays pedal steel on my cd. And I was coming up in Austin as the Grobees/Susan Gibson landed with Wide Open Spaces. So I feel so grateful that I was in all that special Austin music scene energy back in the day🙏😍👍🏻)
Ответитьabysmal music which is typical of the 2000 music
ОтветитьThey were abandoned by their fans. That’s why they changed their names.
ОтветитьThis was 2 yrs ago
Guess their attempt to the enter music industry failed
The fact is they are such good friends, and so tight as a group, that even though it was NATALIE speaking her mind (lol), Martie and Emily didn't flinch. Too much at least. I know in their documentary, Martie or Emily mentioned just thinking, "Oh boy..." but they didnt initially get backlash for 24 hours or something... but the sisters were chill as always. They didn't jump Natalie backstage or try to kick her butt for talkin' "too much", even! That we know of... JK.
No, but they really stayed true to each other and the music, no matter what...and if Natalie had said that comment about TRUMP, or anyone else today, it would legit be forgotten in seconds!! Think of everything people say nowadays! How many people have expressed utter disdain at Trump? And even the haters against Obama!! They said heinous things and did heinous things at their little "free speech" protests. Like "lynching" a "paper-figure effigy" of "a person who resembled" Barack Obama....Natalie's comment was like the most benign statement I've ever heard: "we are ashamed to be from the same state as GWBush", like, really y'all? That is sooo pointless to get mad at. Natalie never said "d3ath to Bush" or anything, maybe people read way too much into it. if everyones really bout free speech and all their rights and stuff, they'd have let that shit slide and they never would've had an issue.
Think about what Nat actually said, she said she's just ashamed to be from Texas, as someone else is, too. That was it. Y'all Chicks haters ain't ever been ashamed to be "associated" with someone, or felt "guilty by association" and voiced your feelings about it?? I mean...!!!
If they were willing to continue with a name that they eventually dropped for being racist, they're bigger sellouts than firing Laura Lynch and hiring Maines ever made them. That lack of character goes back decades. I'd like to ask them about the bass player of two years that they fired minutes before their first appearance on the Grand Old Opry. Very capable picker that had told all of his friends and family to watch. //// When they were getting airplay, they were one of the best Country bands out there. Four years after they decided to write the Pop tunes, "Gaslighter" and "March March", their career has gone nowhere. Karma at it's finest.
