Hey, Homework man, you should look into the fact that dragons are extraterrestrial in origin. One reason is simply they talk. Telepathically to people. They breathe out different elemental compounds. And their longevity is in no way shape or form from this planet. On top of that, they seem to have science and magic far, beyond anything we know. They were known to hoard golden diamonds, which the first aliens were literally Making humans in order to gather. If Ted had been a true part of the community, he would've made sure the location didn't disappear upon his passing. Unfortunately, I feel greed and ego got in the way and has made it an uphill battle to find this supposed cave and moonshaft. It sounds intriguing, but until I see, at minimum, photos or video, I'll have to be skeptical. I believe things like this exist, but too many are willing to move on without telling a single soul and allowing the rest of the world access to the, possibly life changing information.

Also want to add, it can take not just hundreds of thousands of years, but millions for stalactites and stalagmites to form. This object, if it exists, may be millions of years old and could still be operational, which would be just as astounding to discover. We will likely never know, however.

The beginning of this follows, almost exactly, a modern fictional book I read recently (so I guess it would be the other way around). I don't recall the title, but the main character and his companions get inured by bad guys, a local finds them and bundles them into a cave to hide them. Warns them the cave is haunted or some such and not to go through the crack at the back. One does and finds something that turns out to be an ancient space ship that was buried eons ago... Now I know where they got the idea from.
