Hello James & it's is Randy and i like yours video is Cool & Thanks James & Friends & Randy
ОтветитьEverybody has their own favourites. Personally mine are (in n scale) the Kato Olympian Hi - the model that got me into US/Canadian trains, the style of it is just awesome and to see it replicated so finely led to looking at its history, and for the MILW as a whole. As for locomotives I have two - FP45 from Athern for Milwaukee Road and the SD60M from Atlas for CP.
ОтветитьGreat video. They do look good!
ОтветитьI thought for sure it was going to be a couple Conrail Units.. I am so so disappointed. lol..
ОтветитьNothing against the California Zephyr, James; but it’s just a bit too plain for my liking. For me, there’s nothing more beautiful than the Southern Pacific Daylight with a GS-4 leading the way! To each his own.
ОтветитьYou are 100 percent very beautiful and amazing love your videos thank an great reviews
ОтветитьNot to be rude but you must have a very well paying job I’m always wondering how all these people get all these broadway limited and expensive brands. Love watching your videos always amazing reviews
ОтветитьTrain or locomotive or both?
ОтветитьVery Beautiful Train. Your layout is amazing. Keep em coming.
ОтветитьJames when you ran that long train it reminded me of the cartoon I used to watch as a kid. I really didn't care or understand what they were trying to teach. I just watched it for the trains. For those that don't know it's called conjunction junction what's your function.😊

ОтветитьExcellent trains, very beautiful.
ОтветитьIt's hard to make the California zephyr
ОтветитьI live in cheyenne wy. And love it when the old locomotives come out. A BIG BOY RUN BY WOULD BE cool. Love the channel.
ОтветитьThe stainless Burlingtons look like they were made for the stainless Zephyr.
ОтветитьGreat video. I love the BLI Zephyr cars.
ОтветитьI have a short Zephyr set myself. But i just finished getting the upgraded wkw City of San Francisco set. And i look forward to laying out all the cars. Tough call and I'm a freight guy
ОтветитьI have an 8 car SP Daylight set made up of BLI cars in a mix of Pre-War Skirted Southern Pacific Lines Morning Daylight and Post-War De-Skirted Southern Pacific Coast Daylight passenger cars, including the triplet articulated Kitchen/Coffeeshop/Dining car. The only California Zephyr car I have is the Dome car that is preserved in Duluth, MN at the Lake Superior Railroad Museum as part of the North Shore Scenic Railroad fleet. But one of my favorite classic passenger trains is the Milwaukee Road Hiawatha from 1949.
ОтветитьRapido's CPR Canadian (1955 version) is better although the Cal. Zephyr is a close second.
ОтветитьExcellent run-bys! I really enjoyed watching them go by. Great show, thanks!
ОтветитьDid a video of the UP business cars. Overland vs Broadway Limited.
ОтветитьYou should really start mixing in different shots. The direct 90 degree viewpoint doesnt capture the entire model / consists. In fact, it is actually the least amount of the train you could possibly shoot and any angle at all would be better. Think of how Pentrex recorded trains passing by and try and replicate that.
ОтветитьIm thinking of getting these cars myself. However I'm currently trying to build a post war Southern Pacific Daylight train. However certain cars are extremely hard to find and when they do pop up the go very quickly. I also just built the NW Powhatan Arrow consist with the newly released Scaletrains class J.
ОтветитьVery cool, James! Reminds me of a story my mom told me years ago about riding trains back in the early to mid 1960s. She almost boarded the real California Zephyr in Kansas City by mistake, but luckily, the conductor of the train looked at her ticket and told her she was on the wrong train, and guided her to the correct train (which I think would have been Frisco's "Sunnyland" at that time). Anyway, I thought I'd share a fun story regarding the prototype of this train!
ОтветитьLike it. But the cars look to be in a modern excursion distribution. (6 vista domes in a row?). Like you say a full train is a lot of cars/money/length so a excursion train is good to go.
ОтветитьStunning to say the least James and realistic slow running.....scenery and backdrops wonderful....I do battery HO and 009 trains on small boards...
Ответитьthank you for sharing and posting .keep up the videos they are all very informative
ОтветитьThank you James. I too am a fan of the Zephyr and trying to build one as the funds allow. But, my personal favorite for looks is the Wabash Bluebird. I like the BLI cars and the Rapido E8.
ОтветитьThe BLI Zepher is a classic. The cars are detailed to the hilt. I have 3 of the cars myself; a sleeper, a dome, and dome observation. I run it with an Athearn Genesis F in D&RGW colors and call it my Zepherete. The only thing BLI could have done better would have added figures. Something we could do anyway. Thanks for the video!
ОтветитьI remember the unboxing of all of those cars long ago!! I’ve been a viewer since then
ОтветитьI have the same California Zephyr train with 12 cars powered by Rapido E8A locomotive. Its definitely my flagship train as well!!
ОтветитьThe California Zephyr after 1963 standard consist only had 3 dome-coaches ahead of the dome-buffet-lounge so looks like a couple are dead heading. I have enough of the BLI cars to field two full CZ sets, but mainly bought them to model the Rio Grande Zephyr. From front to back CZ: Baggage, Dome-coach, Dome coach with conductors window, Dome coach, Dome-lounge, diner, 5-6 sleeper, 10-6 sleepers (x3) and Dome-observation. The 16 section sleepers were converted to flat top coaches in 1962/63 and were used ahead of the Dome-coaches when rider volume demanded, especially in the summer season.
ОтветитьStunning indeed! Ive been getting more into running my passenger equipment as well, its nice in its own right to see a unit train of the same varnish once in awhile instead of a mixed up freight!
ОтветитьWP is the best looking one...........
ОтветитьOh James, you were soooo close! Yes, you did show some very nice units, but you overlooked
the N&W J Class 611 you reviewed years ago. (Yeah, we all have our favorites and that is what
makes this a great hobby.) Enjoy seeing the layout come to life. Keep it coming!
No matter what's up front, it's a handsome devil.
ОтветитьBeautiful layout, Gorgeous locomotive and and railcars. What do you think about the HO scale Life like GP 38 Santa Fe, Silver and red Locomotive.?.
ОтветитьI can't tell this is the most beautiful train, but definately it is very impressive indeed and need to be in a collection. Very impressive.
ОтветитьI have to agree .... Its Gorgeous!!! 😍🥰😘
ОтветитьThe BLI California Zephyr passenger consists have been the pride of my HO collection. Athearn Genesis CB&Q EMD F3A-B-A, DRGW F3A-B-B-A "Bumblebee" and WP FP7A-F7B-F3B for motive power. Nicely done video segment!
