Fred Dinage is still around, I saw him in Portsmouth a couple of times last year. What a legend!
ОтветитьLoved watching these shows as a kid, fun, entertaining and educational....kids TV back then was well balanced with cartoons, How, Grange Hill, Blue Peter (pre 1980) .....shows that didn't insult the intelligence of their audience
Another show I liked as a kid was "Out of Town" Jack Hargreaves
Have you anymore How episodes please...
ОтветитьPriceless, never missed one .
ОтветитьIf that bucket is "virtually full of water" no wonder Fred's window cleaning round was a failure!
ОтветитьLoved this show ..
ОтветитьMakes Peppa Pig look a bit special needs.
ОтветитьOh my god, what a load of shite, I can't believe I used to look forward to this show when I was a kid.
ОтветитьSad that the opening titles probably wouldn't get past the wokerati of today.
ОтветитьOh... that theme music.... really takes me back!
ОтветитьLoved that show as a kid
ОтветитьOmg the theme music must have been the earliest ever techno
ОтветитьI still have the How! Book….
ОтветитьFab😂😊
ОтветитьFantastic to see this programme again.
ОтветитьHe looks like a real perv in that raincoat 😅😅😅
ОтветитьNowadays the program would be attacked for cultural appropriation.
ОтветитьWow Fred really didn't like that 'dunce's hat' gibe did he! He actually hit her - tells me a lot!
ОтветитьRemember watching this when I was about 12......what totally amazed me is fred dianege looks hardly any different 40 years later. He does a very good murder / criminal show on a sky channel and honestly he doesn't look much different from his days on how.
ОтветитьI learnt more from this show than I ever did at school , what great memories
ОтветитьAwesome, and what memories. It was Fred Dineage, Bunty James and Jack Hargreaves for me. Proper fun and education all in one.
ОтветитьSadly, this was the last ever episode to be made. The entire cast passed away shortly after filming due to an extreme case of salmonella, from consuming raw eggs.
ОтветитьI used to love watching How. The presenters were great but Jack Hargreaves was in a league of his own. His knowledge of the countryside was immense
ОтветитьWhat a fantastic programme, I remember it with great fondness.
ОтветитьThey'd be cancelled now for insulting native Americans
ОтветитьNow children just filled full of left wing nonsense.
ОтветитьAh, 'How', the Vsauce of the 70's :-) Good times.
ОтветитьJack was instrumental in the creation of channel 4.
ОтветитьNo 'gophers' in the closet in our day! I remember this one!
ОтветитьLoved that. Took me straight back to my childhood. They don’t make em like they used to! I also loved Jack Hargreaves’ own programme: Old Country.
ОтветитьWhen tv was fun
ОтветитьStill fascinating, fresh and relevant. I used to avidly watch HOW after school, it was an ITV childrens television classic, within its golden age.
Imagine such a programme for children in 2024.....no, me neither.
Jack Hargreaves without his pipe? Shock horror!!
I remember the 90s reboot with the mighty Fred Dineage, Gail Porter and Gaz Top iirc.. cool for a new generation but nothing beat the original.
The theme tune would probably be considered racist now !
ОтветитьI loved this program!!
ОтветитьLoved this show.. watched it here in Dublin…
When tv was quality 🧐🇮🇪
I loved this programme. They even showed how to make a small bomb with a tin can, piece of string and flour.
ОтветитьJack Hargreaves aka Bob Fleming from the fast show
Ответить....How to blow up your grannies coal bunker - only jesting....
ОтветитьOh what great memories this stirs. I always thought the theme music to be slightly unnerving!
ОтветитьOh my gosh... I remember this 😊
ОтветитьOh Wow i remember watching this in the 80's 👍
ОтветитьWe had the best children's programmes growing up in the 1970's and the best toys
ОтветитьRemember living in Iver Bucks when I was a kid with a portable telly and portable aerial trying to get the Southern TV symbol up on the screen so I could watch not only this but the much better programs on Southern. We were in the Thames tv area but with the right weather and a bit of aerial balancing it would work . Even if it was a bad picture it was worth it.
ОтветитьMarian Davies not totally into it.
ОтветитьHappy, happy days!
ОтветитьThis is before my time but I remember the later How 2…
