Thank you for the review. I have '22 Centenario and really love the bike. I have not found the front headlights to be weak but also added the fog lights. Very happy with mine.
Wish I could bring it over to Ireland. Beautiful country. Was there just before the pandemic and enjoyed it thouroughly.
For the indicator switch open it up and spray it with Super Servisol contact cleaner. Leave it for a few hours to fully dry out, then put it back together and it should work. When it evaporates, water leaves behind a residue that conducts with low currents so you end up with electronics not working. This should sort it and is much cheaper than a new switch block. Also check all connectors are pushed together properly as Guzzis shake a little.
ОтветитьHah, same color and picked the same taller screen, Zard slip on from dealer - absolutely love it, and while Guzzi isn't as popular in the States, it definitely turns heads in the flat black. Enjoy!
ОтветитьNice review. Is the indicator issue definitely due to the switch unit? Reason I ask is I had a Benelli that I took to Germany and for a miserable week it was in torrential rain. From that moment the indicators gradually stopped working. When i got home I checked the forum and it was a common issue. The indicator relays in that model were not waterproof and filled up with water. May be worth checking in the Guzzi club uk forum.
ОтветитьLove mine 10k miles so far
ОтветитьHelpful video mate, thanks for producing it. For a guy like yourself who (like myself), clearly does a lot of hard leaning it is strange that those tyres should square off so much. For what it is worth, I personally believe most people run their tyre pressures too high because the manual always errs on the side of caution (i.e. based on a 18 stone rider with a 16 stone wife and 50 lbs of luggage, but of course they cant say that because it is "fattest" or "overweight-phobic" or "luggage-phobic" something!) generally speaking I have found that lowering pressure a couple of pounds or more can solve that problem if I experience it. Of course it depends on the inherent rigidity of the tyre carcass etc so no given pressure is good across the board but you know where I am coming from. I once read an article on exactly how to discover what your tyre pressure should be based on your riding but I cant remember what it was called but the central point was that every rider is different and you should forget the manual and do your own experimentation. I do this and always find I am lowering pressure even though I am a quick rider and it not only reduces squaring considerably but also improves control and ride quality for a country back road scratcher like me.
ОтветитьI have the exact bike and love it. I would recommend a Pyramid Mud Guard that bolts onto the front brakes; it will prevent the sand blasting. I hope you do the exhaust video as that is my next project. Many thanks from Maine.
ОтветитьThanks for the review. Please change those tyres, they look scary square on the video. 😊
ОтветитьJust found this channel - hoping to add a TT to the garage soon! Subbed pal - looking forward to watching your back catalogue this affy :-)
ОтветитьThat asphalt is really rough! That texture is why your tires are squaring off. I think you may want to change those.
ОтветитьI was really considering buying one, great bike
ОтветитьContinental road attack 3’s work for me. I live in Nor Cal USA, all twisties out here, stick real good! 2020 V85 TT Travel. Love my Guzzi💪
ОтветитьHello, Bucky. Forgive me for missing it -- I am watching quietly as some of my family is asleep nearby (alright, it is my Mastiff puppy, but she's family) -- did you say that your mapping, intake and exhaust, reduced your mileage? If the stock bike is starved-lean, to pass E-whatever(5?), then maybe I heard that right. Thank for the review. John
ОтветитьThanks for review, very important to see these bikes being owner modified and maintained. Please give updates as mileage climbs
ОтветитьGreat review and you have made the bike better .
Just done exactly the same one year and just over 7k loved every mile and agree with your report.
I've been let down by bullshit dealership experience and servicing so she as gone. Valves never checked in 2 service visits us jobs not carried out but charged for. Then told my bike was making odd noise from transmission and they would need it for a "few" days. No courtesy bike just leave me without transport.
Indicator switch is poor.
Side stand switch came loose.
Couple of fasteners needed tightening.
Exhaust guards will slice through fingers when cleaning.
Sad too see it go.
Love the sound 👍
ОтветитьThank you for excellent review. What is the « SCF 50 » ? … I’m not sure what it is and what it’s for… thanks! Renald (from Canada)
ОтветитьNice Guzzi! I have a 2019 with Mc Donald's paint scheme, 1055k and she's a blast! I'm in the Philippines and haven't seen another one on The road. No issues and plenty of power and good gas mileage too, made a few mods and need make a few more! Head turner for sure!
ОтветитьI'm not flash at converting Irish to English 😂, what brand model screen did you say you put on it, thanks
ОтветитьI’m still so drawn to this bike. But with a 29 inch inseam, I’m hesitant.
ОтветитьHi from Leitrim bud been on the bikes same time as yourself and considering the V85 meself great review keep it on the back stuff 😎👍
ОтветитьGreat post...thanks.
ОтветитьI'm looking at buying one of these hopefully soon. Need to first convince the misses 😅
ОтветитьGreat review. What type/brand of additional lights did you fit? Guzzi OEM ones?
ОтветитьThanks for posting such a thorough review of your additions to your bike! Looks like a great bike!
ОтветитьGreat review and even more keen to get my hands on a v85tt 😊 thanks and ride safe 👏🏍⛽😃
ОтветитьIf you have not solved the problem of water in the switches, try removing the cluster, shake out any water and spray with WD40. I had the same problem on my Stelvio and rode home in a downpour with high and low beams on at the same time, it cured it completely and that was 9 years ago. I nearly bought a V85TT when my Stelvio engine seized due to an oil pump gear failure but opted to keep the Stelvio. I also had a height issue and the Stelvio is taller than the V85, my solution was to run the rear suspension about 4 clicks lower than recommended and slide the forks up through the yokes by about 15mm to lower the front end, it handles better than standard, feels a lot safer and I can get both feet flat on the ground.
Mark
Spray the indicators with WD 40 and play a little bit with them…
ОтветитьIn an ideal world you'd not be riding this in the wet, but hey how I'm Scottish so it's just a way of life, like those pesky midges! 🤣👍
Lovely machine & awesome real review mate! 👍😎
Very plesently executed video, I really enyoed...
ОтветитьThank you for your review. Your bike is awesome.
ОтветитьBeautiful bike l own one😀
God Bless you brother ride slow!!!
Best regards from Croatia 🇭🇷
Thanks for the great review. I was brought up near Castlerock so it was even more interesting to watch. Currently have a 2021 v7 850 and KTM 1090, thinking of trading both in for the 2024 v85tt. I reckon if my 2 bikes could reproduce it's a v85tt they would produce 😅.
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьNice review of a lovely bike. Down south here there is no NCT (or MOT) for bikes. How will the DVLA deal with the decat at the MOT? Will you have to put the original system back on?
ОтветитьScreen looks great
ОтветитьExcellent can I ask where you got the fog light's? I also changed my tires to Midas ones really awesome tires... They actually have a dakar version. I would highly recommend them if interested.
ОтветитьBy moment I've lost your narration because I've admired view... beautiful country.
Ответитьwhat does it look like when a second person rides in the back including two suitcases? is the power too low or does it not make much difference with a second person?
ОтветитьEngine has a really nice throaty rumble 👍🏽
ОтветитьThanks, nice and honest review. The foot pegs doesn't look like the original ones?
ОтветитьBucky - nice review. Did you say you bought those little rubber protectors on the crash bars from Allied Express? I couldn’t quite make it out. Thanks.
ОтветитьPut some real pegs on it.
ОтветитьI have 8k miles on mine as well. I have the Mistral enricher and the Arrow cat delete and muffler. I am satisfied with it especially in the SPORT mode. I have not had any issues with the turn signals. All in all, I will not be replacing this bike for a long time.
ОтветитьBought in 22 and sold it to some poor fella within 8 months with 4k on the clock it would not stop pinging it's head off every time it got hot and the resale value on them is terrible 😢
ОтветитьI do love the V85 TT.
Excellent mods done.
I have a '23 V7 Stone (same engine but detuned) and I just turned over 20,000 miles in about a year of ownership. The bike has been nothing but reliable.
ОтветитьOwn a v85tt 2021 Centenario . I thought due to it's simplicity that here would be no issues . How wrong was i. Ongoing and still have an issue of surging on rpm on idle that guzzi refused acknowledge or to fix , which i believe is a crank position sensor gap that needs to be changed with the stator for the generator Then the issue with signals not working somehow water got into the circuit and fried it needed to be replaced . End bolts on my handle bar holding the crash guard decided to fall out after the first month . My most recent issue is a total wire harness change out on a 3 year old bike covered the part not labour out of warranty 1 month . Finally my center stand bolt decided to let go and nearly killed me when i was making a turn by rubbing on my tire . Blame the tech who installed it without loctite . Do i like the bike yes do i think italians know how to put a bike together no, would i buy another, sadly absolutely not . I have payments so i have no choice but to continue to make the best out of it but hopefully i can one day be smart enough and buy a Yamaha .
ОтветитьIn all honesty all reviews about reliability it is becoming so boring… I know a bike needs to be reliable, but is it exciting, do you feel the bike, is it making your internal engine tick? One of the reasons for the motorcycle collapse is that people are fixating with reliability and end up buying the same bikes on and on… btw I own a motorcycle Guzzi and love it to bits
