Your videos look so pro
ОтветитьLove your content. Helps with this "4K vs 1080p" should I or should I disaster in my head!!
ОтветитьAs Always Paul, great video, and watching in my iPhone 14 Max Pro, I did not see a huge difference, however in my iMac 27" can clearly see a difference, thanks a lot 👍🏼😉
ОтветитьThanks for the vid! Should I upload my music video in 4k or 1080p? Will the compression be worse with 4k?
ОтветитьI'm watching on a 27inch iMac 5k monitor at full screen and I don't think there is that much of a difference in image quality. I shoot corporate video with Sony FX30 and G lenses in the lowest 4k setting, 4:2:0 8bit and then scale down to HD to edit and export. I have loads of room for the basic colour grading I need to do, the video quality is 100% as far as I can see, clients are happy and file sizes are manageable. Still worth shooting 4k over HD as it gives more options with cropping when you're editing. Might be a different story if I was making content for TV or Cinema (or maybe if you are doing something very creative which requires some sort of extreme colour grading), but for standard web and social were it will mostly be viewed on mobile, there's no point slowing your workflow dealing with big files just to get a very small increase in quality that only photographers and creatives will notice - unless your client is a photographer of course.
ОтветитьYou talked about bitrate being the culprit between the 4K and the 1080p on the Canon 1DX, i want to correct you and sayd that you are wrong. The bitrate is more than enough for 1080p, the problem with that Canon camera is that it took an image sensor reading of about 800 lines for 1080p (at least this is what my 5D MK3 did iirc), while the new cameras usually down sample from 4K to 1080p, that's why the new cameras have very good 1080p compared to older ones.
Even my Sony A7III has a poor 1080p mode, not as bad as the Canon but still noticeable. Down sample is the key word on the new cameras, as for watching content on mobile some will not even be able to pick between 720p and 4K ...
Differences were easy to spot, but I wouldn't skip any video with good information/relevant information in 1080 or even 720p.
ОтветитьA static studio test between FHD and 4K will show nothing on a capable camera with high bit rate.
Outside, on a park: that's another story.
A CMOS sensor labeled as 1080p (1920x1080 pixels) may not deliver true 1080p resolution. This is because each photosite captures only one color (red, green, or blue) using a Bayer filter. The process of demosaicing interpolates missing color information, which can reduce effective resolution. Our eyes cannot see more than 1080p pixel resolution at a normal viewing distance, whether it's cinema, TV, or smartphone. However, it is important to capture more than 1080p pixels because 1080p is not "true 1080p."
ОтветитьI use a mac w fcp and drop my footage w/o transcoding or proxies the cut and playback w/o rendering. Unless i add noise reduction. What am i using?😂Thank You
ОтветитьI could see it but only when looking at your eyes
ОтветитьI usually record in 4K, but then reduce to 1080. The quality is then better than videos recorded in 1080, because, for example, the halo around the edges resulting from sharpening is much smaller.
