The 1 GR-FE V6. is also a bullet-proof motor. People go gaga over the V8, and they're nice, but the V6 isn't much less power and they are higher HP than the 5 UZFE V6 from the 3rd gens and people wheel the helll out of 3rd gens. Plus, the 1GRFE has a timing chain.

So Todd from Breaking Bad didnt die...he moved to the woods an bought a Toyota 4runner??? LOL, cool video, love those 4 runners, I personally would not own a jeep, they are like Audis, if you buy one you better buy two...one to drive and the other for parts, because they are always breaking down.

Sweet rig. I recently bought a 09 4Runner that was modified by the previous owner: icon lift kit with JBA upper control arms, rock sliders, 285s, and other things like headlights. Best part is the frame it’s super clean so that’s a steal living in the Midwest. Only has 180k miles too. Ur right clean 4Runners are unicorns!

Easily the cleanest yet purpose-built 4th gen I've seen! Just bought an 08 Limited 4WD and I'm curious if you know where you purchased the TRD style grill? I've seen plenty of them online but yours looks much simpler with the center bar and lettering on it instead of the honey comb style on other TRD grills.

My 4th has a a old man emu 2.5 high travel upgraded rcv brand frond and rear axel shafts. Arb front and rear lockers with compressor for airing up and down front arb bumper arb snorkel all vents run up high baja lp9 pro lights trd wheels victory 4x4 rear bumper with dual swinv outs shelf sysyem with solar pannels battery bank and fridge freeezer roof top tent 4 maxtrax so many extras hard to cover them all but a fully built overlanding rig they are great trucks also have a 2017 tacoma built the same ans a 93 righ hand drive diesel pajero its addictive

A LITTLE TOO PRICEY? THAT"S an understatement.. freakin jeeps are RIDICULOUS-- and they're not much good any more either. I know several guys that bought new ones recently and they all HATE them- ONE poor guy has replaced the REAR END twice in his-- and it's NEVER been offroad. The rest have had all kinds of issues- which is a shame- because I use to LOVE jeeps... BUT- that's ok- the 4Runner is more practical anyway..

I've the same V8 4.7. 2003. Just passed 290k miles. The only thing that has gone wrong is the transfer case. Which was a $3k repair.. otherwise it's going strong. My previous 4runner was the 98'. Got rear ended at 366k miles. it was pristine, and a tragedy. The 4th gen can't compare to my love of the 98'. The 3rd was just way more capable off road, looked better etc. However, the 4th is far safer, and more comfortable, and if you level it or get a lift it's pretty good off road too. Hoping it will get to 400k with no drive train issues.

For what its worth, the v8 4runners were rated at 7000lb towing with the load distributing tow package installed from the factory. If that is removed to make room for an aftermarket rear bumper and youre towing off that bumper, youre pretty much limited to the 5000lb towing capacity of the v6s which towed off the bumper also. Not that it really matters, because any 7000lb trailer is definitely too large for the 4runners short wheel base and would be super squirrely on the road; I wouldnt consider towing more than 5000lb on the stock v8 either way
