What’s hilarious here is…..Viktor could easily get the truth from Kraven by drinking his blood to get the memories (as Marcus proves) but he is rooted in the class hierarchy - his seeing the scattered memories of Selen made him loathed to drink again of an underling.

Kraven no doubt knows this and uses his best weapon: deception. The werewolf scientist also makes use of this knowing a vampire lord would be even more loathed to drink his blood to throw Kraven under the bus — though it’s likely neither race knew Marcus or any vampire elder would even attempt to see the blood memories of a werewolf…or if it was even possible.
