Clay Wurst’s story of what happened to Waltz’s Mexican friends and Bicknels don’t match up. Somebody doesn’t have their facts straight.
ОтветитьI just find this Chanel. Congratulations for your great stories
ОтветитьBetween these folks and Mr. Ballen they are riveting. I learned the German word for five as Fünf and fifteen is Fünfsehn.
ОтветитьOne day it is a goal of mine to see the gold that Jacob Waltz or anyone that came out of his mine what the gold looks like or what became of it. Think about this it was soo high quality and valueble 24K gold. To see gold that beautiful would be amazeing. It's on my bucket list. I mean Sombrero Butte is heck 40 miles roughly from Weavers Needle. I think the real picklle in the jar here is evidence of where gold can be located here thats close to the Apache's land. The Apache's claimed the gold because I truly believe that it was on their land where the LDGM is located. I say this because it was their land they claimed it because it was on their land. Ok. Now think about this. The State of Arizona went in to create this law soo they could operate the law to keep the Apache's from owning the land any longer. This happend in the middle 1964 I think. The one clue that I'm stuck on guys is the Blue Stemming chalk that is all over the outside walls on the rock. You can see this blue chalk in rich abundance all over the rock and it is a clue that has stood out in my mind as the vital clue to where the mine is or that area it would be because you cannot just find that on the rocks just anywhere it is there from the presense of gold and other elements that create gold. That Blue Chalk is the biggest clue in my mind that sticks out about the LDGM and will probably be only found in certain areas.
ОтветитьI'm kind of confused here on the whole 5, 15 thing. The German word for five is f ü n f (fünf), not funz. Fifeteen is fünfzehn, f ü n f zehn. Funz, as far as I know has never been five (or anything else). Fifty is fünfzig. (Und so weiter)..
ОтветитьLOVE listening to this great guy!! He’s brilliant 👍👍
ОтветитьThis man is a lost mine of information! 👍👍
ОтветитьGood story.. one of my favorite authors of the West had an extensive library that I bet your have not had access to.. Louis L'amour's kids have been repackaging his short stories for years and he used his personal library for reference.
ОтветитьWhen and where were Bicknell’s articles first published? Three stories published…. non-consequently?
ОтветитьI do not believe Julia "forgot" anything! She looks very intelligent, and she more likely deliberately misled future searchers. She may have also found the gold, gone back for it, and it is long gone!
ОтветитьGeeze, I spend all day Sunday listening to these wonderful stories... I wish I would have been able to go on a few of these Hikes, wow, Thank you Guy's I love it!!!
Ответитьlike the boss just said jakub waltz paid with gold dust or nuggets ... gold dust and gold nuggets dont come from a mine only a creek bed. 100 percent jakub found gold in a dried up river bed... every one has been looking for a mine. there is none.
Ответитьi don't think jakub new the alchemy to smelt gold
Ответитьif he did he would of had gold bars.. the dried up river bed by the mountains thats where its at 100 percent
ОтветитьMan you guys do such a great job. Ever since I was a kid I have been eerily intrigued by the Superstition Mountains.
ОтветитьWhy can't the Dutchman mine be the mammoth or bulldog mine
ОтветитьI listened to these story’s for over 40 years and none have match my original story that I got back in 1964.
ОтветитьPeople need to understand Jacob his own history, personal knowledge to understand the mans terminology you will learn how he thought.
ОтветитьTake an airplane fly of the area.
ОтветитьGreat story Jack. But you're wrong about funz. Funz isn't five. Fünf is five auf Deutsch. Fünfzehn I'd fifteen. Ten is zehn. So fünfzehn is five and ten. Fifteen. Not sure if that changes anything though.
ОтветитьThanks for cool videos. I lived in AZ in 80's and 90's. And I heard too many stories about the Lost Dutchmens mine. Saluto Paizano!
ОтветитьJust watched this episode wish I would have seen it before I went to the dwelling in September. Long hike lots of rain water starts running quick in that canyon. Now I gotta go back
ОтветитьLogic says they are bunk to put people in the wrong direction.
ОтветитьThis trail does exist and is the old military trail that isn’t being used anymore. It runs right into the salt river also. The canyon itself was used as a shortcut during the Indian wars when the winter rains brought seasonal creeks through this canyon. In it there is waterfalls and pools of water, boulders in the wash and rocks shaped like people. Waltz would take this way via the salt river and use this way into the mountains. The canyon is hard and like a slot canyon for a bit, and then opens up into this hidden canyon Dr Thorne was taken to. In this canyon you can only see out to the south (high walls in every direction) and see weavers needle from the slope where pit mine is located. I won’t say the name of this canyon but it does exist and may not be considered in the Superstition Mountains. There’s a line in the sand where it becomes Tonto National Forest
ОтветитьThis feller is like a breath of fresh air. No myths, wives tales, just real honest to gawd facts only found through diligent research. And he has the proof to back up his research.
ОтветитьJack, youre a legend and giving me the adventure itch ...
ОтветитьThat is an interesting name, but he wasn't actually a constable?
ОтветитьShe’s searching for the Dutchman’s lost mine in the Summer?
ОтветитьThanks Jack! Please put this information into a book that includes the maps and pictures you presented in the video. I’m not a Dutch Hunter, but I like to read about stuff like this. I do believe the Lost Dutchman Mine was found and the gold ore was removed years ago. Maybe there are some caches that are undiscovered which some lucky soul might find.
ОтветитьThese stories are great good job
ОтветитьAmazing. Thank you I will search one day. The key is the board house
ОтветитьWhat if the mine is under water now.
ОтветитьHello, Yes, as you say, a great video! Question: "Can you walk from the "Pit/generator mine" to the 'Board House' and back in 1 day? Thanks, Sig
ОтветитьAwsome story
ОтветитьIt might be y’all walked right by the mine & not saw it
ОтветитьJack and Hank
You two are my favorite storytellers of all time. Just love you.
Thanks again friend. The kids and I really appreciate your work.
ОтветитьWow, what a great story! 😎 I totally enjoyed your presentation!
ОтветитьPlatinum Storytelling!
Love Storytelling, being the good Irish woman, I am. ☘️
Does Jack have any books for sale ? I couldn’t find them on Amazon
ОтветитьThank you! I lived in Phoenix, Mesa, Tempe, Awatukee from 1982-1996. I love the Superstitions and took a class of Arizona History at Mesa Community College before my ASU education. Now retired in Washington.
ОтветитьCool
ОтветитьI think hes right
Ответитьwell we also know for a fact a Arizona Gazette ran the story in August 22 1895 ...Vol .30 No.# 44, and i have this paper in near mint condition ..it is almost word for word the same as the January 1895 paper ..with some better oversight of the treasure hunters looking for the mine ...i shared the paper digitally with Wayne tuttle..i still have the full news paper and there are a few good related topics in the paper other than the LDM story . so we know he was still writing about the LDM in August of 1895. there 4 or 5 people named in the paper that were hunting for the LDM at the time and P.C. Bicknell is names as one of those early Dutch hunters .
ОтветитьI'm not so sure about searching out there for a summer, much less a weekend.
From May till October the temperature is over 100°
And From July to September
Up to 114°+
Jack is so fun to listen to. A wealth of knowledge and a colorful storytelling machine!
ОтветитьYa it's up their I saw the Trojan horse the arch and the horse head rock and the canyon going up didn't have time. will go up next time for shur ❤
ОтветитьIm pretty sure the mines up by prescott... he was the lost dutchmen cause the guy had no clue where he was. I get confused myself in places ive been 100 times if i put six years between a visit. There was enough money under the bed for Julia to live on forever, with a thriving established business. She then sold... they never say who bought it but ill bet them two fellas who made up the story before julia got back... ill bet they know who bought the bakery.
