Good story. I understand that they want to be like getting something out of his business. And as a child of my parents, for all the sacrifices that they have done for me, I'd be very willing to give them something. But wanting 50% of the company is just too damn much! And circling back to the early story, them announcing his business as a family legacy is out of line and without even discussing it with him beforehand. i understand his frustaration of having to deal with that. But he compromised and wanted to give them 10k monthly, they should feel appreciated just by getting that. It's not little. It's a lot. And getting that monthly would totally paid everything they had done for him. Just be a grateful already.

Start another business with your own resources and without the family's knowledge. Build it bigger and gift them the old one. They will profit for a short time and fail while you keep the second brand going strong.

I have seen this up close, i was called as a witness in a situation i did not want to be involved. My friend was a genius, one he made his first million. ,his step dad cam in any denmade the entire company. Many of us that were employees dtarted to get this guy on Video take. Them on audio. Them a guard was hired. He threatened me becau i was a person friend from middle school . C&D , RO, arrest , nothing did anything. The step dad ended up in prison (attempt murder) i just xannot believe the greed of people.
