How Many Clara's Actually ARE There in Doctor Who?

If there was a gallifreynian Clara, would she regenerate when she died? If she did, what would she look like then?

The elderly time lord could have been both his mother and an echo. Especially if the doctor didn't have a biological mother, you know as the timeless child.

The Maori Clara's tattoos also imply that this version is a man, so maybe gender can be different, not just species and backstory.

I liked Clara splintered. just a human, but available on a level comparable to the doctor. she and River Song were awesome in that it presented the transit of time being not just at the Doctor's beckoning... almost expect other Time lords to show up as their Tardis' re in theory as capable as the Doctor's. so more Clara, more Ashildr, and more River Song, please

I just figured it was like the reincarnation theory.

I was thinking about this recently, and I realized something: As far as we know, the Doctor being The Timeless Child means that there are no limits on how many times they can regenerate. Thanks to the comics (the issue about Winnie, specifically) we also know that Clara’s splinters save the Doctor past their original regeneration cycle.

This means that Clara Prime potentially got split up *infinitely*.

Jenna Coleman should just be in every episode of the show, just hanging out in the background, and at the end of each series everyone compares notes to see if they spotted all of the Claras. Like a Whovian Where’s Waldo.

What about the 9th doctor? Did Clara run into the 9th Doctor?

I always thought that the splinters were her interaction with the Doctor's time stream, and she didn't actually get "reincarnated"... He never saw her as the Dalek in "Asylum of the Daleks", and for all we know, "Clara Oswald" looked completely differently, and the "splinter" made her look like "Clara Prime". Likewise for all the other interactions. She wasn't there to direct him to the "right" TARDIS, ... right? How could she be, since she hadn't splintered? But also, the splinters were CORRECTING the damage the Great Intelligence had done to the Doctor's life... So perhaps the direction was because he had been changed to go in the WRONG one, which would have changed the direction of his life. Fixed... And perhaps though he knows all along what to do to fix the chameleon circuit, he doesn't because that's how he can always recognize HIS TARDIS. We don't really get a glimpse of the damage the Great Intelligence did before Clara jumped into his time stream... but we know that whatever she did, he didn't actually die on Trenzalore as we'd heard he would... Was that also due to an echo of Clara? We know the new life was sent out... from Galifrey, purportedly... but truly, that might have been a figment of his imagination giving him "permission" to regenerate a 13th time.

But then again, she didn't recognize the War Doctor ... and she didn't get to see the previous lives from before this series... (if he was the Timeless Child, of course...) But that's my view. :)

Ummm. No . Asylum of the Daleks takes place after Silence in the Library . I believe that CAL was the first shard of Clara we meet.

I remember an echo in the series that you missed. The Doctor and Clara prime saw a dead body floating in the river during an adventure. It’s when Clara prime was almost turned into a wax figure and put under glass.
