Should listen to Rush 2112 and the band Foghat
ОтветитьI believe that is Steve Winwood on organ
ОтветитьJeff Lynn. Electric Light Orchestra. ELO.
ОтветитьNo mention about the guitar being thrown. When he saidche had questions I was expecting: where'd it go? Cuz that's the only question I've ever had when I watch this performance. That & why, way too soon!
ОтветитьThis is a Beatles song written by George Harrison. This performance is part of George Harrison’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Just before this performance- Rolling Stone magazine came out with a list of the top 100 guitarists. Prince was pissed because he was not on the list. His performance was a giant F you to Rolling Stone. He is fantastic in it. I love George’s son when the jam starts rolling. He looks like he is thinking- this is the BEST day of my life!!
ОтветитьI can respect the arragance or cockyness as long as you can back it up and prove it, or your body of work over the years proves it, not just be a all talk guy and prove shit.
ОтветитьYou mentioned black betty near top of clip, check out leadbelly, song almost 100 yrs old if not older lol
Ответитьi want that geetar he threw into the crowd ,,,,if i caught it ?.....would be retired by now lol....LEGEND
ОтветитьThat's Dhani Harrison, George' son. They look alike.
ОтветитьEither one of you or both of you should react to Dear Mr Fantasy by Steve Winwood, it's epic
Ответитьpeople forget that though this was a tribute to george, many people on this stage were getting inducted, including prince. There was a bit of an extra FU to the organizer of the whole event, who happened to be one of the lead editors at rolling stone.
ОтветитьThe dude in the red has beautiful teeth.
Ответить❤❤❤❤❤❤
ОтветитьPrince feat. "Back to the future" Marty McFly
ОтветитьMy late husband's opinion of Prince's guitar playing was that he was straight up probably one of the best guitar players and he was horribly underrated.
ОтветитьYeah, saw Prince play Red House back in the day. Damned near dropped my old school blues jaw to the floor. Fuckin spectacular!
ОтветитьOne of the best Tribute performances I have ever seen.
ОтветитьYou don’t go to a show to see humility. They don’t want the dude that’s struggling. They want the final boss.
ОтветитьHe said a lot with his guitar....
ОтветитьPrince had been snubbed by Rolling Stone Magazine when it left him off its list of 100 greatest guitarists. This was his way of showing the world it was a mistake. Plus, in rehearsals, the guy who was doing all the solos in the middle was leaving Prince out. When someone asked him about it, he was told them not to sweat it -- he'd play at the end. Prince is now number 14 on Rolling Stones list.
Ответитьthe man to the right of Tom, is Dahni Harrison, who is the spitting image of his father George
ОтветитьI forgot that you warched this!! So here i am again. 😂
ОтветитьPetty dominates VIRTUALLY ANY STATE he's on. Yeah. Prince is MadBad...!
ОтветитьY’all can’t tell white peoples apart!!
ОтветитьLove it.
ОтветитьHe walked off because they tried to freeze him out of his solo is what I heard. That and The Rolling Stones bullish! 😂😂😂.. love it for Prince… he was definitely the man!
ОтветитьI don't agreed that most talented artists have some sort of mental issue. I think it's the "machine" that drives them crazy. Ruthless work hours, publicity appearances, interviews, no privacy, no down time. Then assign them handlers so their corporate owners control them 24/7, isolate them from their true friends and family, surround them with "yes" people, feed them uppers and downers to stay on schedule. THAT is why artists go crazy, OD, die, etc. They are signed for their artistry but then consumed like a commodity and thrown away like an empty tin can. Next please...
ОтветитьWhere you all been? 😂🤣 at least some of you got here. Tom was a great human and a great player. Price was the shit. He played and sang his own songs. He was legit af. Plus he had the sense to be his own like Tom Petty. That archive has to be stacked with songs. Plus Prince after the 80's stuff did R&B main stream stuff Diamonds and Pearls. The man had a vision none of us could see.
ОтветитьClapton played lead guitar in the original
ОтветитьPrince knew everything about his craft from learning to play multiple instruments incredibly and the complete knowledge of music creation and the ins and outs of the industry were eye opening. The business of the music industry destroyed many artists and crushed so many others. Prince changed the industry for so many.
ОтветитьThis was the greatest solo period. Respect. They asked Eric Clapton . How does it feel to be the greatest guitar player.? Eric's reply....I don't know, go ask Prince!
ОтветитьThis song has been covered by many. But this! Artists all amazing, but Prince in the background and then BAM! 🫶🏼❤️ well done!
ОтветитьTwo Words, Traveling Wilburys. They're a musical history lesson.
ОтветитьRolling Stone magazine did not place Prince on the World's greatest guitarist the year before. He showed them!! Genius
ОтветитьNo one. NO ONE. Ever goes harder than the tambourine player
ОтветитьSir Prince is amazing. Jeff Lynn is an icon as well. So is Steve Winwood and Tom Petty.
ОтветитьPrince was invited by Tom Petty and Gallen to perform. During rehearsal, one of Jeff Lynne's guitarists disrespected Prince, so Prince told Gallen "I'm leaving, but I've got my part covered". Prince's riff was totally co-signed by Tom. Also, Prince always tossed his guitars to one of his stagehands.
ОтветитьI went to school with Tom's older sister in Florida
ОтветитьBACK STORY: PRINCE was not invited to play at this event. Story he saw Harrison’s who invited him LAST MINUTE to play for the event, honoring his father. That’s why he just walked off.
They always leave us because they do not want to recognize us as being any of the greats, although most of us were a lot better than most of them who took our music to make their own.
Jeff Lynne (ELO and Travelling Willburys )vocals are amazing. He has been a hugely influential singer/songwriter/producer. A musicians' musician. Surprised that you don't know who he is.
ОтветитьThis was one of the few songs George Harrison wrote that the Beatles recorded. What's even more interesting was that the guitar solo was performed by arguably Harrison best friend and little known guitarist by the name of Eric Clapton.
ОтветитьYoung man, don't ever try to be like anyone else. Be you. Your every fiber of your being.
Every one of those on stage are a reason to dig into their roots
Raymond Cooper is the man on tambourine. A legend when to comes to percussion.
Oh yes. I love it. He went for it and left it all out on the table! I love it!
ОтветитьDahni Harrison is next to Tom Petty playing some rhythm guitar. He is fairly young and looks a bit like his father.
ОтветитьI think this is the greatest live guitar breaks in rock & roll history. Prince is large and in charge.
ОтветитьYou cannot be a real guitar fan and not know all of those people.
ОтветитьYou mentioned 'Black Betty' in this reaction.
No, it's not about any of the things mentioned.
It's about black tar heroin, and dealing with that addiction.
Tambourine man is Jim Capaldi, he was in a band called Traffic with Steve Winwood, the organ player.
