I just watched the other ending and this one is better, I get what they were going for with the other but it doesn’t work with out knowing what happened afterwards, doubt he could get away with the screaming kidnapped kid but let’s say he does then what? Kill her? No that destroys his character, keeps her? No obviously not. So what happens nxt with this ending?

damn when i watched the movie again after a long time i noticed the ending was different. the ending was that the american kidnaped saskia, the daughter of the buissnesman, i find this ending the best ending but the other one was great too

When I first watched the film, I saw I guess the alternate ending. People on Reddit are having a meltdown about it and using their own modern day biases to explain why it doesn't make sense, even bringing race into it, crazily. I find it far more believable that Paxton, who would remember how important the daughter is to the man, would kidnap the daughter against his own morals (which is why he is crying on the train) because he can't bring himself to be as psychopathic as the Dutch man then to become a full blown killer maniac at the end. Of course the busy travelers of Slovakia, in the middle of a war, where crime happens everywhere and police constantly watch anyone that steps out of line, wouldn't dare get involved in this scenario. This isn't American Twitter, because God knows none of these chronically online people would actually ever step in to stop someone committing a violent crime in real life. In basically every good revenge horror movie, the protagonist goes after what matters most to the villain and gives them the choice of how to move forward in their forever changed lives. In Shawshank Redemption, the banker goes after the warden's movie, not his life. In real life, victims of such atrocities would more often then not never kill their oppressor in an act of revenge, and honestly wouldn't have the guts to kill them in a survival moment. You wanna know what's actually hard to believe? Besides Paxton actually surviving this movie, the fact anyone would ever go back to save someone, even a loved one, knowing how heinous the dangers are. And not only that, but he would never recognize the Asian girls screaming, probably wouldn't even hear it singled out especially from the surface. And with how many victims are down there, there's no way he would bother saving anyone. He would do whatever he could to escape and never get involved again. So yes, technically he would never kidnap the girl, even if he wound up in that situation, but I bet anything he'd do that over confronting the man responsible for our all the violence he's been put through and kill him. If someone kidnapped you and tortured you, no way would you willingly go near them. They have a psychological advantage over you whether you are dominant in fair fight or can sneak up on them, especially with just you bare, crippled hands. Also, how would he get on a train with likely no money and police everywhere in this country?

I wonder what it would have been like if Paxton had killed the daughter. The man had no qualms about killing someone's child and by killing the daughter. He feels the pain that will never leave. Yet, Paxton has a heart and would have to live with the guilt.

Seeing this could honestly have made the other two entries kinda like this dude now has a vengeance plot against the society that does this type of thing like some Agent 47 type shit but then again they are all rich but still it could've happened
