iOS 18.4's Rare Release, iPhone 17 Design, Apple vs UK Gov, & More!

Well, that Friday iOS 18.4 Beta release was unexpected! How are you liking Beta 1 so far?

I like the Titanium - I have the Natural Titanium 15, and have had it since last summer. I don't use a case, and miraculously the phone is still in basically perfect condition. Not a single scuff, scratch, dent, or anything - on the titanium rails, on the screen, on the cameras or camera bump, not even on the Apple logo on the rear.

Are we able to remove wallpapers on phone.

Regular iPhone should be aluminum air should be stainless steel and then pro titanium. This is going to bring down the purchase volume of the pros to go to an air that isn’t supposed to be a pro. They are back tracking there product line up if they do that

How can I get darker icons? 😮

Whoever is using Siri to ask for the weather in 2025 needs to go back to 2009..

Or better yet, Siri needs to do more than just give us the weather lol

Apple Intelligence is actually available for the EU for the first time ever with 18.4 (in case you didn’t know)

We are getting close to the new iOS release and the promises are still far away with "Apple intelligence' or if they wanted it only to be a gimmick which drains your battery faster I guess they got there at last.

I guess 18.3.1 is the last version for my 16 pro max and after apple moves on and that version becomes obsolete I’m leaving apple I was once wowed as a kid with apple tech but now it’s a joke software and hardware wise now

With all due respect Brandon, but how does the removing data protection for one country “the right move”. This action just proved that Apple’s whole “Your privacy is important to us” campaign is complete BS. This is not a good thing at all.

Anyone else has been having experiencing random reboot since 18.4 Beta update on their IPhone ?

Is it just me or does anyone experience lately that IOS feels clunky and slow at times? I’m on a 16 pro and feels like iOS has gone backwards, promotion feels like no motion and the UI has just become slow for me and just pathetic overall.

Here on iOS 18.4 beta 1 and I just noticed by accident that Spotify keeps playing if you open tiktok and I think reels

Update: I think it may have been the coolest bug I had because it doesn’t do that now 😔

Did they pulled the 18.4 beta after my iPhone downloaded it Apple wouldn’t verify the update it was saying try later then later on the update was gone

What the hell is wrong with Apple? Has anybody noticed how bad the app is for playing back videos now? You can’t even scrub through frames anymore. I don’t know why they changed it but it’s like 100 times worse than it used to be and if I could change back to iOS 17 and give up all the stupid AI features and everything just to get that back I would. I don’t know who’s over there but they all need to be taken out in the pasture and put to rest like an old horse. Get those old people that don’t know anything out of there. They’ve all gone senile. Now when you tap on a video, it gets really small on the screen and you have to like put your finger on the stupid white line and slide it back-and-forth and you can’t even like micro adjust to the exact frame you want. What the heck? I am beyond angry at them And I hope they read this. Geez

On the case mayerials , I'm not really that fussed , all of my phones made out of aluminum or stainless could take a good bit of punishment , but imo , the titanium was more about a marketing thing than actually a big advantage of ruggedness.
Harder metals are more difficult and expensive to work with , they are harder on machine tooling and cost more to supply.
Stainless is still my favorite material , but aluminum is lighter , so there is that which gives apple more hardware possibilities , and its probably the cheapest to work with.
As per jerry rigs video samsungs titanium model used about half the weight of titanium in conjunction with plastic apparently , it appears more about marketing to me.
If using Aluminum brings other benefits to the device I'm good with it.

Did they fix the satellite iMessage bug?

Brandon I had a bug that makes a black rectangle appearing over the photos which I’ve taken ip15 pro max iOS 18.3.1. Do you have an idea about this issue? I want to recover that photo so badly. If you find anyway it would be greatly appreciated.

Mistake to remove ADP for UK users. Although, it does not concern me as I'm not from the UK but it sets an awful precedent that if a Government makes noise Apple will comply, and leave its customers security dangling. I switched from a Samsung phone to an Iphone because of ADP. Big mistake Apple, you set a wrong example.

The BackTap banners interfere with screenshotting stuff, so i filed a feedback asking for it to be removed and to go back to how it was, or, at the very least have it so it doesnt show up when screenshotting.

Well, I don’t have the iOS 18.4 so drop today

Is anybody else having an issue with Siri where when you ask her a question she won’t show the response it’ll just show the box I have the beta installed and it’s doing that which is really annoying and I restarted my phone and it didn’t fix it so I hope it’s fixed in the next beta
