Banger video, my two favorite anime, anime stories, and anime dubs in the same video. Hope this blows up because you’re making some good ass quality content

You should look at some of the later berserk content I’d love to see what you have to say about post golden age stuff. While golden age is solid it’s merely just a fraction and the beginning of the story, to stop after just the eclipse would essentially be missing the whole point of berserk. The fact that despite adversity and the cruelness of the world we can always find a way to stand and continue fighting.

I haven’t watch AoT, but desperation is a catalyst, especially a prolonged one, I would say, with the persuasion of the godhands and the circumstances, both would choose to “sacrifice”.

Well damn, this is something to think about. I really like hearing your comparison between these two characters.

On one hand, I could see Erwin choosing to sacrifice to the Godhands. But maybe since he had Levi to anchor him to reality, maybe he wouldn't

Even if the video was long, you did justice on laying out the characters (I mean, feels like it's needed in a comparison whatbif scenario video like this).

Eren is more like Griffith wouldn’t you say….sacrificing everything for his selfish pursuit of his brand of freedom…because he was born like that …everything in the end played as a flow of causality , destroying everything, sacrificing all the bonds and even mikasa, shedding that one glimpse of hope that could had changed the flow of causality…just like Griffith he chose that dream over anyone or anything..I would say Erwin had redeeming qualities and inner strength while both Griffith and Eren chased only their inner narc sociopath desires ( both control manipulators, both shows vulnerability only when their inner image got questioned..I don’t think they were concerned how their action effected others but rather does that to hold on to that made up perfect image of themselves as a coping mechanism..Erwin was brave and also had a absolute understanding of his core..Erwin was bound to duty and had to take his men to war, where those deaths were part of it..he and Levi both did not want their comrades sacrifice to be in vein( one of the best redeemer of quality and actual empathy) ..Eren n Griffith had no empathy

The 2 main differences of attack on titan and berserk is that in attack on titan there is no enemy. The other main difference is that when Erwin gets his arm bitten and dragged by a titan, he does not care if he dies or not and tell his troops to advance. If the roles were switch with Griffith I feel like he would use his troops get the titan off of him. If I had to pick a commander my choice would be erwin smith.

I think it depends on when the Behelit activates. If it's when you said it should, I think it is a bit more unlikely since Levi is still there with the Serum. He can give Erwin hope, and I think Levi would actually give him the Serum after seeing all this. If it would activate at some point earlier (Which is unlikely to happen) I think it could go completly different. Erwin is a 50/50 but Levi and the others are there. Griffith didn't see his soldiers as close friends and started to resent guts. Erwin will likely feel even more guilty sacrificing even more people after the charge, since he knows that there is another option... the Serum, Levi and the others. Armin could be the new commander after his years as a titan shifter are up (as he shows lots of potential during this arc), Eren is still a titan shifter and Mikasa is almost as strong as his best buddy.

Erwin Smith... he would not sacrifice the people there. He would consider it but not take the godhands offer, even if they show him a vision. He would see the other option.

no because Erwin is smart enough to realize that he has a better option, in his mind it would most definitely come down to this
sacrifice the people who risked there life for me to get some information that doesn't seem worth it or take the titan serum and save everyone and still get this so very important info 🤔

AOT is influenced by Berserk. Eren and Mikasa’s relationship is very similar to the relationship between Griffith and Caska. Both stories are grimdark, and comment on the nature of humanity and the concept of freedom. There’s probably more as well that I haven’t touched on.

This was interesting! I feel like Erwin wouldn't simply because his main two homies were smarter and more emotionally mature... If he asked them "do you think I'm dirty or do you think I'm cruel?" They would ACTUALLY answer him and have a conversation and get to the bottom of why that question... Unlike in Griffiths case. 😂

I'm all for making a video compering these great 2 stories but you present it as if it's a though question.

Erwin literally states how he wants to achieve his dream even at the cost of his troops and all the people inside the walls. Erwin then proceeds to do the exact opposite and sacrifices his life and dream for the sake of the mission.

This video made me realize how much Kamina from Gurren Lagann is both similar and wildly different from Griffith and Erwin. A very charismatic leader who unites a group of rogues into one big band in pursuit of a dream, but where Kamina differs is in his attitude, his actions, and the way he affects his people.

Erwin is a shade less likely than Griffith. Because it’s proven that if Levi had gotten to Erwin and spoken to Erwin, he would possibly give up on his dream. However, Griffith, I don’t think would’ve and it mainly because Griffith believed his men chose to serve him, Erwin felt the guilt because the used deaths were to further his own goals and not humanity, which is what the soldiers had joined him for. He spoke of dedicating one’s heart his heart to humanity while he never did. While I feel Griffith would’ve have felt guilt for giving up too soon on his dreams and thus making the people who died for his dream, die for nothing.

Also I think griffith’s hatred of guts subsided and it just an initial response due to his torture he had every emotion placed on guts. I think this because he tried to force himself on casca, to try and keep her and guts from leaving

I think another key thing to mention is that while Erwin had Levi and Griffith had Guts, in the end, Griffith resented Guts after he left, he truly felt alone and helpless with his ruined body. And as you mentioned, Erwin was talked into leaving his dream by Levi, while Griffith was talked into accomplisihing his dream by the godhand. All of the evidence really makes this question didficult to answer. If I had to decide, I would say Erwin would choose to sacrifice, if he was placed in a similar position as Griffith:
1. his trust and relationship with his comrades ruined
2. His dream being completely impossible to achieve in any way
3. Manipulation by the godhand (who probably know the perfect things to say in order to sway someone's decision, they might even mention his father to Erwin)
And 4. As opposed to 2. His dream would be a given if he made the choice.
Number 4. is an interesting variable, for which we have no information on how Erwin would react to it. Even when he said "it's so close" - the basement. Both he and us knew that they weren't really all that close to reaching it, given their position against the opponents.
Those are my thoughts if anyone is interested.

EVERYONE with a strong dream in Griffiths position would have sacrificed others for his dream. It's literally the point of Berserk.
