They electrolysis was very disappointing IM pretty sure you had something set up wrong, And the sand blasting was terrible I'm pretty sure you could have achieved the same results if you'd just started with the grinder, great video by the way

Are those cracks in the center on both sides of the metal axhead deep into the metal? If they are, it looks like the ax would be dangerous to use.

I can’t help but wonder how long the renewed blade will hold up, since there is now so little metal left. Would you only use it for light tasks, like pruning branches that are no more than 1-1/2 to 2” in diameter, or making small firewood into kindling? (Actually, seeing the finished work, I think one might reserve it for self-defense! It looks lethal!)
In any event, the whole process is fascinating.

Nice video. That type of axe head was used to plane rough planks from logs in an era before sawmills, or where there were no sawmills. Think Abe Lincoln, the rail splitter.

It looks like there is about HALF of the original steel remaining after the restoration.

Зачем так шлифовать до гладкого состояния? К чему такие большие потери толщины и размера? Вы уничтожили исторический вид и ценность этого топора, превратив его в современную игрушку. Это не реставрация это сельское рукоблудство.

Такую интересную и серьёзную реставрацию делаешь- восстанавливаешь в первозданный вид,но такую херню пишешь-кошмар!!!

Why screwdriver?

This was quite an orcish way of restoring an axe head, I must say, have seen more refined methods and those sounds were anything but relaxing lol. I like the effort tho.
