Colourism is terrible in Jamaica I'm considered light skin and even we feel it if not considered right version of light skin its terrible cant begin to dig into it.

A lot of people care about what others think. The “sticks and stones” mantra is nonsense. Words do have an impact on people. Some allow words to break them down and they become shy or reclusive. Others become insufferable a$$holes that few people want to be around. Those are the ones who think the words haven’t affected them.

There is nothing wrong with her speaking out about the topic. There were a number of Athletes who were bullied in a very public way online during the Olympic Games including a boxer from Algeria and a member of team USA rugby Llona Maher. Both took to social media to address bullying. Plus Jamaica does have a problem with colorism problem so addressing the issue is better than keeping silent.

Im jamaican and the only time i know about colorism or racism is when i follow up social media.
Just imagine what those black footballers playing in the European leagues go through.
