This doesn't make sense. I have Shared Folders that are restricted for certain users in sharing, but are enabled in Drive. Those "restricted" users can see folders they should not have access to in their "Team Folder." How can I resolve this?
Ответитьthanks for the video it helps.. if one user access a file and user two access the same file they can both save or edit the file?
ОтветитьThanks. I am looking for your video how to set up drive admin. Could you kindly provide the link? I could not find it.
ОтветитьWhen setting up the local folder does it have to be empty to start with or can it be pre-populated? My internet connection at home is really slow and I would like to copy the contents of a remote NAS onto an external hard drive (many gigabytes), bring it home and put the contents into a local folder on my PC then use the method in this video to maintain a two way sync without the need to download the entire contents of the NAS initially. Would this work?
ОтветитьThanks for this video!
ОтветитьGood video! Could you make a guide to create seperate cloud spaces for users so each user can only view his own data? Been trying to set this up, but end up seeing files from all users.
ОтветитьExactly what I needed. And straight to the point. Thanks a million!
ОтветитьNicely explained! Great video 👍🏼
ОтветитьGreat. I have different folder to share with different users. It is possibile to rename the folders? RIght now i have 3 Synologydrive named folders on my PC in 3 different locations. It is confusing.
ОтветитьNot even Synology's own website explains how to sync a teamdrive using the Drive Client app. Thanks a lot for explaining!
ОтветитьI'm trying to figure out why some of my files that I've copied to my Synology Drive Folder on my PC have the little checkmark icon for status and some have the left and right arrows status. I cannot share these with a link that has the left and right arrow status. For example, I have some .exe files that have the checkmark but some of my .zip files have the left and right arrow status.
ОтветитьHowsit Rick, thanks for the brilliant share. I was wondering if there is a way to have one shared folder with different user access rights to the subfolders. Similar to a Sharepoint site, so I'd essentially want to create one "Main" folder and within that shared folder, have subfolders, "Admins" and "Staff", is it possible to setup certain users to only see the Admin folder and certain users to only see the Staff folder? I've tried this in the permissions of each folder by adding and removing users which didn't work (had to choose make inherited permissions explicit, in order to be able to delete certain users from a folder)
Ответитьso do i understand correctly the /RickMakesTeam team folder will always be called /SynologyDrive on your client and this can't be changed?
ОтветитьGreat video. Q: I just upgraded from Cloud Station Drive to Synology Drive. Before, I had two friends who did two-way syncing via connection to my NAS. Now that I've upgraded, it appears everything migrated, so do I need to set up a Team folder if everything is still working through the Cloud Drive folder connection they had before?
Ответить@RickMakes is there a way to share a document as a view only file vs allowing the user to download a file on my Syn NAS? They will have DSM Access but I don''t want them to be able to download certain file and only be allowed to view them say on Document or PDF Viewer. This would be a similar feature that Dropbox Business offers
ОтветитьI need my client to just upload and download from their web browser. There is no way they will be downloading software to do this. Do you have a video for that?
ОтветитьHey Rick! This is pretty close to my use case. However, I want people I work with to be able to download and upload files/folders from and to my NAS from a web interface, since they are competent but not super tech-savvy (so I would use synology drive for that, right?). I only want to have a two-way-sync for myself.
I almost got this setup with my WD MyCloud Ex2 Ultra. However, WD only allows downloads and uploads of single files, which makes it so annoying that it becomes basically unusable for my use case. So I’m thinking about switching to Synology for this reason.
TL;DR: Can others download multiple files and/or folders via the synology web app?
thanks mate. I set the nas folders here using the video and syncing the screencaptures to the nas
ОтветитьIs there a way that the admin of Synology NAS has no access to my files thru the Version Explorer?. It lacks privacy!
ОтветитьVery nice demonstration and now I know how Team folder works. However, if I am the only person to use it but I'd like to "share" it between my work and home computers; can I just use my personal Drive folder? I think so but the real question is: how do I set it up so that it will "sync" only the differences? Only files that are modified, created, and/or deleted?
ОтветитьGreat Video! Was looking everywhere for just this!
ОтветитьAMAZING!!! Straight to the meat 🥩
ОтветитьShame I had to watcha video on some helpful person instead of company. Thanks for help
