Vaseline, isn’t meant to be a hydrator for lips, it’s meant to seal the hydrator that is put underneath. Vaseline may help keep moisture from escaping the lips. However, it’s not useful on its own if your lips are already chapped. Apply Vaseline on your lips after moistening them first with a humectant like aloe. Vaseline is known as an occlusive, which means it can hold in moisture. If you use Vaseline on your lips before they’re dry and chapped, you may be able to stave off dryness. However, petroleum jelly isn’t all that effective at restoring moisture once it’s been lost. So basically you should make sure that you moisturise your lips well, then seal it in with Vaseline. Personally I won’t use anything with Vaseline in. Sadly I wouldn’t buy Charlotte Tilbury products, no matter if they’re good or not.😊

If you do another one of these, you should try the inkey list's one lip balm.

The dionis in the stick is also pretty good. It's thicker and stays on nice. I've not had chapped or cracked lips since I started using them. Even my husband enjoys using them and he's not much of a lip balm person

I also miss the OG Bite Agave Lip mask SO MUCH! It is the standard I use to compare all other lip treatments (and I also have some old tubes I can't bear to part with) lol. Though technically not a lip product, I have heard people suggest that the Lano Golden Dry Skin Salve is close! I haven't tried it yet since it's not available in Canada, but it does have a surprisingly similar ingredient list. I just don't know if they mask the lanolin well enough. Would love to hear if you do try it! And also thank you for the other great suggestions!

Aquaphor is the only thing that's ever helped me for me.

I have the skin picking disorder and have since I was a toddler so for me to find this after 30 years blew my mind! I never thought I'd find something that helped so much so quickly to where there's not much to pick at!

I also have hyper senses so smells for me are very strong but I don't find I can smell this... But I have only ever used the small squeeze tube - 10ml lip repair
So I can't comment on the others.

I am however going to try cerave intense one (the dark blue) as I've heard that it good also and if that works it's going to be so much better on my wallet lol

Laneige is #1 in my book! Yes it seems pricey but my tub lasts a year. Love it.

What about doing balms with SPF at a later date.

I used to love the Bite lip mask, and found my new love in the Hanalei lip treatment. It has lanolin and beeswax and doesn’t have a farmy smell to it, I swear by it!

yayyyy for laneige! too bad they discontinued the mint choco that was my favorite, I still keep 2 jars with me. if you don't like the artificial one maybe you will like laneige apple lime. the grapefruit smells like bubble gum and a bit too artificial for me

I currently have the Farmacy lip smoothie, and I agree with everything you said. Smells nice, but is SO thin, and yes oily. Definitely nothing left on my lips when I wake up in the morning.
I had the Fenty as well, and loved the thickness and smell of it, but agree too much product comes out, so inevitably you're wasting some with every use. (Unless you have very large lips, and mine arent tiny.) The performance wasn't anything out of the ordinary, my lips felt about the same as they usually do. So I don't think it dried them out. I also had the Revision lip mask, and I also loved how thick and sticky it was, but I ALMOST stopped reaching for it because of that intense peppermint smell. I mean Damn. It was strong. But because of how pricey it was, and due to the great ingredients I forced myself to use it up. And when I finished it I realized I missed it. Lol. I have the Sol de Janeiro right now. This is the 2nd time I've bought it. I do like the smell and how it feels on the lips, but do wish it was a little thicker of a consistency. I'm realizing I like pretty much everything you like in a lip mask. Including smell! 😊

One to try is the lypsyl stick lip balm! Sooo good

I feel like you skipped a lot of tubes. Burt’s bees has a honey scented one, but my favorite it the ultra conditioning with kokum butter. It’s amazing. They also have tons of scents and colors. Nivea makes great ones, and the Vaseline in the little lip tubs and sticks aren’t the same formula as the straight petroleum. I also love the INKEY list squeeze tube peptides balm. I seal it with a thicker one because it melts right in your lips and that way it wears overnight as a treatment.

I really appreciate your research. I bought a set of that Jack Black spf 25 balms and never use them--wish I had seen this and saved myself $. Going to try a few of your recommendations. My skin is super sensitive so I have to be very careful about fragrance also.

I like straight up lanolin as a nighttime lip mask. Nothing works better, it's cheap, and you get a lot of it.

commenting to let you know that I first watched this video for one product and months later I was looking for reviews on a different one that is also in this video. I appreciate how many are in here because I saw the time tag with what I was looking for and said, “she did this one too!” 🤣. so grateful for the effort put into this video and thank you for helping me choose my products!

One thing I noticed looking at the composition of most lip balms, is that they have petroleum and its derivatives. I did some research on this, and I found that petroleum can create a false shiny and a hydrated looking lips, cause most of extracted natural oils used in this producte to sooth and regenerated the damaged lip skin are quite expensive. I'm not an expert in dermatology nor skin care products, but I do love looking at the formula of the product and see the role and the use of each and every ingredient.

I still cannot believe Bite decided to destroy their brand by going "clean vegan beauty edible realness" instead of sticking to what they were doing well. That Agave lip mask is by far the best lip product I've tried as well, it's right up there with Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Eyeliners and Shiseido Minimalist Whipped Blush as my holy grail discontinuation victims.

Have you tried the tinted Fresh Sugar Lip balm ? Are they good for daily use or do they make your lips dry ???

I do love that LaNeige lip mask…don’t understand how someone can use the applicator it comes with though because WOW I used that one time and ended up wiping off what didn’t end up n my mouth 😂

Just fyi, different forms of aquaphor have very different recipes! I love the lip balm with spf (great as an spf’d face balm too) & the stick so much! The big chubby stick is great for lips too! But, i was shocked that the baby stick (& the other stick, 2 labels, exact same inkey) doesn’t have petrolatum at all! It does have mineral oil m, so it’s similar, plus shea & avocado oil, and wow it is great for the eye and cheek area when temps drop below -20C. I apply it over my spf & makeup and it all behaves! And I keep one by my bed at night whenever my eyelids or cheekbones get peely or painful. I have a whole eye area routine (no eye cream tho lol) & even so, that aquaphor stick rescues me several times a year!
