ОтветитьTruss me, you can do this yourself 😊
ОтветитьHi Dan... I'm a bit confused here... Doesn't the neck need to have a VERY slight bow in the middle?? Thanks!!
ОтветитьFinally a good explanation! thank you!
ОтветитьInteresting that you wanted the neck dead straight ie no relief.
ОтветитьTruss the process
ОтветитьDan is an American icon in the universe of DIY stringed instrument building. care and upkeep.
ОтветитьGreat advice,
ОтветитьWell done
ОтветитьAS far as i'm concerned this man is not just a great guitar tech/repairman, this man is an INSTITUTION on guitar repair and maintenance.
Bless you Mr. Erlewine, thanks for all the guitar wisdom
Here's my tip.................if the truss rod works (and they usually do).....it's easy. Watch this!
Ответитьthank you. This was definitely me, I'm afraid to break my truss rod. I'm the guy who gets nervous around electrical outlets for pete's sake... I have problems
ОтветитьExcellent tutorial .
So what if when I'm adjusting the truss rod and I encounter resistance .
Either way ? 😢
That was exactly what I needed. Thank you!
ОтветитьThank you so much!
Ответитьwhat do you do when you loosen all the way and string is still buzzing
ОтветитьI just got an old silvertone f hole acoustic from a pawn shop for a STEAL and the only thing it needs is lower action, i hope this is the fix
Ответитьnow how to figure if you have a single or dual action rod!
ОтветитьSo this is how we raise and lower the action? For higher action loosen and lower tighten?
ОтветитьFinding a trustworthy and experienced guitar tech is the issue.
Ответить👍
ОтветитьSo you want it dead straight that right ?
ОтветитьThank you for such a peaceful explanation! Gives me confidence! 😃
ОтветитьI’m glad this video was here when I needed it! Thank you Dan for sharing your experience with everyone. This fix corrected a 20 year old Les Paul I had given up on.
ОтветитьThis really helped. Thank you.
ОтветитьTy 👍❤️
ОтветитьDo you ever loosen your string before adjusting?
ОтветитьDude thanks.
ОтветитьI can listen to him all day. Great tutorials that calm the soul.❤
ОтветитьThis is outstanding - not only the info, but the calm encouragement. Thank you!
ОтветитьRighty tighty, lefty loosey. But with a truss rod lefty loosy will make your action higher, while righty tighty will flatten your frets. Learned this the hard way yesterday when i broke my truss rod because the backward nature of this trying to get rid of string buzz. But, i think the guy who worked on my guitar just didnt do a very good job. String buzz after maintenance, means ill never let them touch my new guitar when it comes. Good thing i buy budget ones.
Ответитьnice man
ОтветитьThank you for a very detailed and excellent tutorial. I really appreciate it
Cheers!!
Ok, this video finally gives me the courage to try doing this on my own. Thank you!
ОтветитьI AINT AFRAID NO MO
ОтветитьExcellent explanation. Simple and clear. Thanks. I’ll be happy adjusting my truss rods now I understand how.
ОтветитьShouldn't be afraid to play with your rod a bit to get the action right.
ОтветитьCheers fella.
ОтветитьHave had truss rods on certain guitars that have little to no effect on changing the bow on some necks. The nut or allen head can be turned from full loose to very tight with little to no change in the arch of the neck. Have noticed this mostly on cheaper chinese guitars, but am sometimes baffled as to why a straight edge shows virtually no difference after a major truss rod adjustment. It often feels like the truss rod itself is too flimsy to make the wood move
ОтветитьThanks Truss Rod Stewart!
Ответитьwatching this 28 years late, but in the last couple months i figured all this out and brought life back to guitars didnt know sounded and played so well, broke my fingers playing live with terrible settings but now i know and is what counts
ОтветитьAdjusting truss rods can only do minimal reductions in the string actions. Taking down the height of the saddle’s always effective.
ОтветитьThis is by far the clearest explanation I have found on this topic.
