Only thing that might make me think of not buying a Tesla is it's lack tactile buttons. However they are still a no brainer! Tesla are the most efficient 👍

Really interesting video. My thought was that whilst Tesla have 2 top selling models, in the U.K. 9/10 EV buyers choose other brands. With a lot more EV models coming to market in and around £20k, Tesla’s market share will continue to shrink.

Enough with the Model 3 Highland indicator stalks already. If you really are that put out about refusing to properly acquaint yourself with operating your vehicle, there are plenty of affordable after market stalks you can get and fit yourself in under a minute. Job done. Move on. You managed to figure out the Volvo's quirks quickly enough including not having a rear window. Sorry I mean Polestar. Sorry I mean Geely.

If you want to talk imaginative - AI and autonomous robo-taxis are on the horizon. Who then will need to own a car? Go on your app and call it up 5 to 10 minutes the vehicle you need is there. 50p a mile? No insurance or fulelling costs, no road fund licence, no need for parking. Steets free of parked cars, makes no difference whether or not you have off-road parking. The automotivve industry will look much different and a lot smaller.

I think BYD in the world is what Ford and GM used to be, those days have gone, and America is looking inward with tariffs. Have you ladies considered that the cars in the UK might be leased? Leasing is better than finance as you don't suffer the EV bottom less pit of depreciation. 2025 will be interesting with the new Renault 5 going to market.

I tried all the VW and Audi models, plus the Mercedes. I had strongly considered the Ionic 5 but the dealer network is sparse where we live.
I went for a two year old M-B EQA back in March and have never regretted it!
I took out a new one for a day last week but hated the swipe buttons on the new steering wheel, so stayed with mine.
Dealership for VW, Audi and M-B are plentiful, plus my nearest dealer is less than two miles away, not that I’ve needed it these last 9-10 months 🙂

Loved the video. Let me help with the BYD pronunciations - Q is the same as Ch in sound, so Qin is pronounced Chin. The BYD Song, like the BYD Qin and the BYD Han, are named after Chinese dynasties, which might not sound like a good naming convention or very aspirational, but the effect of naming cars using the name of dynasties is a bit like naming an English Car using historical English eras. So the BYD Song, Han and Qin sounds like the Rolls-Royce Tudor, the Rolls-Royce Regency, or the Rolls-Royce Georgian.

One major drawback with solid-state batteries, is the swelling of the battery during charging and, ultimately the degradation of the cell after extensive recharging, lithium is a very toxic metal for the environment, not many countries want to mine it, 98% of lithium is not recycled and goes in to land dumps, the huge amount of lithium used to make one lithium car is not sustainable for all cars, it takes 1000 gallons of water turned toxic to mine one lithium car, (horrible) the way fuel cell catalysts and membranes , there anode and cathodes are becoming so efficient that one day a larger coke bottle full of cheap green hydrogen will take your car 1000 miles, this is coming, and new home solar cells that make hydrogen coming to market , they will run homes and cars at cheap cost effective prices, why because solar cells have become much more cost efficient in making green hydrogen or getting bang for buck from solar cells than having battery storage or just plan electricity, fuel cells will always have 10 times more power than any other lithium battery or solide state battery, fuel cell are proven and solide state or lithium will loose in the end when it comes tp power , fuel cells are becoming truly remarkable engines for all transportation ect, fuel cell tanks for cars, tanks are made with carbon fiber 5 times stronger than steel made for super safe impact, making it safer than combustion engines or for that matter a lithium car, secret about hydrogen fuel cell cars is that each car actually cleans the air as it runs due to it`s clean watered electrolysis when released onto the atmosphere, fuel cells will run everything in the future and not lithium or any solide- state battery! after all lithium batteries cars are still connected to oil and coal grids.

I have a BMW i4 and I think it’s superior to any Tesla.

Qin is 'chin', a Q is pronounced as 'ch'. 'Z' is pronounced like 'j' or 'zhan' is 'jan', and 'x' is pronounced 'sh', so xin is 'shin'

Interesting how you thought that the Top 5 was largely influenced by the availability of PCP deals (i.e. those manufacturers desperate to shift their cars by offering discounts). Be interesting to see what was the Top 5 of cars that people actually BOUGHT rather than essentially leased for 3 years then replaced.
Also, since all modern cars (especially EVs) are largely software on wheels, I would be extremely wary of buying any Chinese car, regardless of the cost.

Merry Christmas and I must say the buttons for indicators on the Model 3 are easy, Most roundabouts are a quarter turn so still so easy to push the indicator and I no longer have the issue of trying to cancel an indicator but then indicating the opposite direction and then when you cancel that it goes and starts the indicator disco!

Wish list: Proper station wagon that can tow 2000 kg and where the back seat folds proper flat.

Deal breakers: No stalks, everything on screen, no proper handbrake.

I think certain manufacturers can’t make the cars fast enough, there is a long waiting list for the Skoda enyaq, I waited 3 months .

China’s arming rapidly, it has the money and overwhelming manufacturing capability and capacity to outpace anyone else. Buying Chinese EVs is fuelling that. We’re doing incalculable damage to our own futures by sending them so much of our wealth.

My Model Y is being repaired after being hit, and my hire car is the electric Lexus and it’s HORRIBLE!!

My biggest compliment came yesterday when a blond in a Tahoe at a 4 way stop said, I read her lips and she said “There’s my car” . White Model Y. Oregon❤

Do a dual test between a VW ID7 and a ZEEKR 007, and see which one is best, particularly when comparing range and charging speed. It would be a very interesting comparison.
