I dont drink wine. Only tap water😂😂😂😂😂
ОтветитьAmerican Problem. Here in Europe in most restaurants you can buy individual glasses of wine, so everyone gets to choose there own and usually there is a "house wine" so one red, one white, sometimes a rosé as well, that are just some generic wine that sell for maybe 2 bucks a glass/8 bucks a bottle. Plus some cheap options. Only in like really fancy restaurants will you find the prohibitively expensive ones.
ОтветитьWater, thank you.
Ответить🇺🇲🐽🥶🇺🇲🐽✌️🌎
ОтветитьLuckily for me I'd be ordering a cup of tea with my food and I cannot stand the taste of wine, any sort, all vinegar to my taste buds. :)
ОтветитьMy choice is Second cheapest wine
ОтветитьAll i got from this is that its a good thing i like cheap red wine from my grocery store😂
Ответитьjokes on them I dont drink wine unless its cheap
ОтветитьThe worlds leading experts in wine were once put to the test. When blindfolded they literally couldn't tell the difference between white and red wine.
ОтветитьThis is shocking if you've never been to a restaurant before
ОтветитьA bottle of a very good quality wine. Costs $257 in the store. The restraunt charges you $535 for the exact same bottle. I can see paying up to $75 more. But anything over that. Is just a scam.
ОтветитьWhat a load of bollocks.
ОтветитьThis makes me very glad i don't drink alcohol at all. Though, I suppose the money I'd be spending on wine, beer, or other alcohol is being spent on other things, so it all evens out.
ОтветитьA wine I like was at a restaurant for $15 for a 9 oz and it's a $11 bottle
ОтветитьIf you think that is crazy then realize that they do that to everything except tap water at restaurants. Even the food! Its almost like thats how they make money.
ОтветитьThats absolut bullshit
ОтветитьI don’t think this person has ever worked in a restaurant. What restaurant only has wine on the beverage menu??? Only one wine list is given as to not have so much clutter on the table.
ОтветитьHis post vilifies restaurants for marking up booze. This is a necessity for a restaurant's survival. If you are serving an entree and charging $35-$50 for it, you will not make enough to cover the costs of running the business. The alcohol sales make us a hole that helps cover the labor and food costs. Remember this is a business that deals with perishable goods. And those goods can cost a lot. Nobody is forcing you to eat out. But if you do, give the places you patronize the same respect you would want for your work. And eat at establishments that treat you right and serve good or great food. That raises the bar for all of us.
Ответитьhae you ever heard of a pitcher of beer?
ОтветитьWoah
ОтветитьI mean lemme just drink my wine once a year for 5€ at a restaurant without being the most poetic and philosophic person who refuses to participate in capitalism bla bla bla.. sometimes I just dont care and I’m not looking for the easiest, cheapest solution, but to chill a little bit😌
ОтветитьI’ve worked in restaurants my whole life… it ain’t that deep we just don’t have 150 cocktail lists
ОтветитьMark it up like a bastrd 🤣🤣🤣 iam dead
ОтветитьI'm Italian, and I can't stand the taste of any wine. I think it taste like piss.
ОтветитьUnless you viking, cider or beer
ОтветитьBack in the 90s i went to a steakhouse in California and ordered wine with my meal. Then my friend next to me wanted a wine too, and that snowballed and we all wanted a wine. So they arrived with a bucket of ice, 1 bottle, and 4 glasses... we asked where the rest of it was. The waitress blinked and after we recited our order back to us did she realize that we each wanted our own bottle.
I mean we were all in our 20s... 1 bottle of wine was like drinking a coke. Yeah.. not just the waitress, but the whole restaurant was giving us the side-eye like we were uncooth savages for wanting our own bottle. (i mean, we kinda were, but lets be honest it was only 1 bottle... not like we ordered a bathtub of beer and 12 liters of Jack Daniels.)
Johnnie walker sucks
ОтветитьNo, wine doesn't taste better from a heavier bottle. But you can trick people into thinking that, just like any other thing.
ОтветитьWhich is why you buy wine according to your preferred price point, not the other way around.
Ответитьi don't drink wine at all. problem solved.
ОтветитьI'll have tap water please. I'm driving 😂
ОтветитьThe wine’s name is Chatue Obsquore - 🤣
ОтветитьI like a couple of glasses of red wine with my meals, but the extortionate cost of wine in most restaurants puts me off. It's not that I can't afford so much as I don't like being ripped off. As a result we eat out a lot less than we would if the wine was reasonably priced....But both my girlfriend and I are great cooks so we don't mid cooking and dining at home with friends and spending around £20 each on a couple of bottles of decent wine is much better than the £60+ per bottle that the restaurant would charge.
ОтветитьThis "sharing wine" notion is hilarious. 😂❤
ОтветитьI went to a steakhouse in the US recently in Nashville , (I'm French), and the prices for wine on the menu were absolutely insane. It's already ridiculously expensive in France where you can't have a decent bottle in a restaurant for less than 30€ but there almost everything was at least 120$ some wines 1000$+ for absolutely no conceivable reason.
I mean the 150$ bottle has to cost around 20$ on the market... Crazy prices. Regular wine sold as a luxury good.
And the NY strip at 80$? What is that about?
Hopefully I wasn't the one paying for this meal 😂
You can buy a bottle of liquor from the restaurant and share it.
Ответитьbeer or water
ОтветитьI love red wine 🍷 who agree?)
ОтветитьGuy talking as if the food prices aren't absolutely inflated too.
ОтветитьA normal 50cl beer is 1 euro in Nederland yet cost 6 to 8 euro at the restaurant 😂
ОтветитьI am not sure if he asserts that wine are the most profitable item in the menu.. but it isn’t.
1. Soft drinks ($3) is the price of a glass of soda around (it’s cost pennies with fountain soda)
2. Coffee (5$) is the average cup of coffee in a rest
3. Dessert
If I have to choose wine over any one of these I will have wine always served.
In my City, Restraunts will only survive if they have quality, not obscure cheap, Wine List.
ОтветитьThis guy doesn’t know a thing about marketing
ОтветитьAlcoholics will do anything besides admitting they have an addiction. Lolol just buy ur bev its not that deep
ОтветитьI don't like wine, so it's not a problem. I don't order any beverages anymore because the mark-up is ridiculous. For a family of 4, drinks add up to the price of an entre. Same with desserts. Way too high a mark-up for what you get.
Ответить😂😂 exactley.
ОтветитьWhile I find the mark-up of soft drinks to be ridiculous that is what I will continue to drink while out because it is nothing compared to alcohol and that is coming from someone who lives in the epicenter of the bourbon industry.
ОтветитьNever buy wine or mixed drinks from a restaurant. It's legalized robbery. $12 for a teaspoon of booze in a fruity drink. No thanks
ОтветитьIronic that Chateu D’obscure has such obscure pricing
