I got a chance to hit the canals near my place today after about two month of not going fishing.
I went to a stretch of canal that is always good to me. This time around, I got there and found that the canal was crystal clear and only about a foot deep.
I guess it's that time of year when the SRP stops the flow of the water in the canals to do their annual repair work.
The canal where I was at seemed completely devoid of life except for a couple of small common carp.

Good to see you out doing your thing. Yea it is that weird transition time here in the valley where the normal bite slows down and we are waiting for the trout stocking to start. I live in a neighborhood that has a golf course that runs through it and I have a pond behind the house the is across the street from me. I decided to hit it a couple of times and been catching a bunch of tilapia and a couple of carp. Nothing major but it at least satisfied it thrill of hooking up on something.

Was just there two weeks ago. Found lots of little bass, one bluegill and one grass carp. I was pleasantly surprised to see such recovery just a few months after being drained.

That’s where I really started getting into fishing as a kid🫶🏽

At spot #1, there are a ton of those small bass, but they are growing. I go there about twice a month and feed them a bunch of worms.. 🤣
