I like how you’re tackling different topics! Always have you on while cooking my breakfast, this video was especially relevant :)
ОтветитьGlad to see your beard, but please deal with your hair. You need to look a little more rugged.
Ответитьtry to look like a narly dude.
ОтветитьPOST I OF III - p. 456 MYTH IS BUSTED THAT THE BRAIN REQUIRES SUGAR/CARBOHYDRATES. Gary Taubes' "Good Calories, Bad Calories" (pp. 319, 385, 456). Page 456: "It is not the case, despite public-health recommendations to the contrary, that carbohydrates are required in a healthy human diet. Most nutritionists still insist that a diet requires 120 to 130 grams of carbohydrates, because this is the amount of glucose that the brain and central nervous system will metabolize when the diet is carbohydrate rich. But what the brain uses and what it requires are two different things.
"Without carbohydrates in the diet, as we discussed earlier (see p. 319), the brain and central nervous system will run on ketone bodies converted from dietary fat and from the fatty acids released by the adipose (fat) tissue; on glycerol, also released from the fat tissue with the breakdown of triglycerides into free fatty acids; and on glucose, converted from the protein in the diet."
POST II OF III - p. 319 MYTH FURTHER BUSTED THAT THE BRAIN REQUIRES SUGAR/CARBOHYDRATES. Gary Taubes' "Good Calories, Bad Calories" (pp. 319, 385, 456). Page 319: "...the standard thinking is that carbs have to remain sufficiently high so that the brain and central nervous system derive all their necessary fuel from this dietary source of glucose. Nutritionists will often insist that 130 grams a day of carbs are the minimal safe amount in a human diet.
"Though glucose is a primary fuel for the brain, it is not, however, the only fuel, and dietary carbs are not the only source of that glucose. If the diet includes less than 130 grams of carbs [Atkins/Paleo etc. say less than 80/day; 20 when starting to supercharge the change to ketone burning from glucose burning - PN], the liver increases its synthesis of molecules called ketone bodies, and these supply three-quarters of the energy to the brain. The rest comes from glucose synthesized from the amino acids in protein...and from a compound called glycerol that is released when triglycerides in the fat tissue are broken down into their component fatty acids.
"In these cases, the body is technically in a state called ketosis, and the diet is often referred to as a ketogenic diet."
POST III OF III - p. 385 MYTH FURTHER BUSTED THAT THE BRAIN REQUIRES SUGAR/CARBOHYDRATES. Gary Taubes' "Good Calories, Bad Calories" (pp. 319, 385, 456). Page 385: "[During fasting] fat will supply 85 percent of our energy needs, and protein the rest, after its conversion to glucose in the liver. Still, because the brain and central nervous system typically burn 120 to 130 gram of glucose a day, nutritionists insisted (as many still do) that carbs must be our primary fuel, and they remained skeptical of the notion that fat plays ANY role in energy balance other than as a long-term reserve for emergencies."
ОтветитьYou know... you know.. you know... you know....
ОтветитьOf course the demons leave your head after you work out, hasn't this guy heard of exercisms?
ОтветитьI've changed my diet a lot. I get on kicks. Fat protein nuts green stuff. Yep big difference. Love carbs for shot of energy though.
ОтветитьSomeone you should interview:
Lyle McDonald, from Carbohydrate and Fat Controversies pt. 1: Two (or Three) Dietary CampsGenerally, folks fall into one of two camps regarding whether they think carbohydrates or fats are good or bad. For a couple of decades now, the mainstream of dietary advice has been more or less stuck in the mindset of ‘fat is evil and ‘carbohydrate is good’.Various attempts to promote so-called ‘high-fat’ or ‘low-carb’ diets have usually been shot down as fads although there is increasing research evidence that, at least for some individuals (usually those with insulin resistance) higher fat intakes and lowered carbohydrates may be both beneficial and preferred. However, for the most part, I’d say that mainstream dietitians are still on the carbs = good, fat = bad bandwagon with higher fat/lower carbohydrate diets being relegated to the diet ‘fringe’.Both groups can bring impressive (or at least impressive looking) data to the table but, as usual, extreme stances are invariably incorrect and the truth lies somewhere in the middle; this particularly debate is no different. The third group (and the one I put myself in) recognizes that whether or not carbohydrates or fats are ‘good’ or ‘bad’ depends on the context. The source of the carb or fat, the rest of the diet, the goal of the individual, genetics, activity, etc. all factor into this issue. So while it may be convenient to give simplistic recommendations of the ‘X is bad, Y is good’ variety, simple in this case tends to be incorrect.Perhaps the most succinct way of describing what I’m going to detail is that there are no good or bad foods only good or bad diets. That is, within the context of one type of diet or individual situation, a specific food may be excellent; under other conditions it may be a poor choice.
You knew that this had to be added:
"They're the writers of their own BURP press releases, Morty!"
This dude hasn’t done his research on plant based high carb diets.
ОтветитьHi
Ответитьyou should interview vegan gains
ОтветитьI know no one gives a fuck but Im on a zero carb high fat diet and feel amazing. I just eat meat and veggies.. Most of my life ive lived with fatigue along with horrible depression waking up feeling so tired that I really didnt want to live that way anymore. For the first time I feel healthy and its helping me in school. Im 23 and started about 8 months ago.
ОтветитьI just think you should get to the point sooner. Sometimes the interviews really test your patience.
ОтветитьAh, something more controversial than politics -- nutrition
ОтветитьHow many times does Max say "you know"?
ОтветитьHonestly how does one not know what dementia or alzheimer's is?
Also, "... and yet the modern world is fighting it at every turn"..? This is just blatantly ignoring the fact that people are able to live older and older every year.
Just went into ketone fuel 4 days ago. My mind is on fire all day, even my dreams are crazy active!
ОтветитьThis is the highest amount of false science I've seen in a Rubin Report video, which is pretty sad
ОтветитьMax has a great voice. Hope he’s reading the audio version.
ОтветитьUnfortunately google-schooler (which was a phantasmic filter to get professional publications) became PC since CAIR financed quite a bit.Though I'm not a doctor and have no medical degree whatsoever it's quite a funny coincidence, that sometimes (like around 300-500 times) Into only had a different opinion about symptoms, but by totally hazard I suggested the diagnostic proof (searching a certain value in bloodwork, wondering about a funny MIR) that gave than luckily the doctor an different perspective (like treating Hypothyroidism with Thyroxine 4 instead of Fuixidione, as theres is no anaemic symptom in bipolar depression).....but to give an idea what informed means: I browse studies around 4 hours a day since 12 years.
Ответитьdiabetes is caused by fat in the blood. this is major ignorance. Carbs are not bad nor cause diabetes.
ОтветитьGreat information.
ОтветитьIt's too easy to stay fat and unhealthy in America when there's so many unhealthy and convenient options with drive-thru restaurants open 24/7 and no healthy options that are as widespread and convenient as unhealthy fast food drive-thrus.
ОтветитьFat IS a nutrient. Aside from water, your body is MOSTLY fat. It's used in almost every cell of the body. Fat isn't ONE molecule, there are a wide variety of different fats.
If you're going to eat an low calorie diet, it's better to just fast. If you're eating food, but not enough calories, you're body thinks you're in a famine, and will start to preferentially burn muscle over fat to conserve calories to weather the famine.
If you're just fasting for a few days, you'll burn your fat stores. Evolutionarily people often went days or weeks without eating, that's WHY we store fat.
three minutes in and you have to talk about the fucking toxic zeitgeist again, can you not do that when talking about something different? I'm getting bored with that same shit every interview.
ОтветитьPublicly funded science. UGGGG The first think that came into my mind was Atlas Shrugged.
ОтветитьJason Silva's friend!
ОтветитьPoke bowl LMAO! That's one of the most requested foods that I deliver along with anything Vietnamese, Japanese, Laotian & Korean.
ОтветитьWow. I can also write a book.. Only two words... "common sense" instead this salesman has spun up quite an elaborate story. I watch him talk and just see an rv salesman.
ОтветитьMax, I thoroughly enjoy your videos. I have been vegan, keto - for a short time and low carb. Once I learned about glucose I have not been able to understand the fascination with grains, pasta, bread etc. Look at the carbs and fiber!! I feel if people measured their glucose for a week they would understand the damage they are doing to their body. Thanks for the interview and the book - I want to buy one for all of my sisters - I have 5!!
Ответитьit is nah-to...
ОтветитьThis might have been said already...not going to scroll back and read everything but the high fat is very necessary in order to help your body learn how to burn the fat while keeping you satisfied as you lower your carb intake. Also the fat satiates to the point where it helps deal with some pretty intense carb cravings. A healthy fat can also help you absorb more nutrients in those nutrient-dense foods. Sure, once your body is fat-adapted it's probably wise to cut back some of the fat. Then if you're maintaining, maybe creep back up again...it's a person-to-person thing. That said, this is a terrific video and an amazing topic.
ОтветитьDid you get to help your mother ?
ОтветитьIt sounds like he doesn't understand the biochemical reason why butter is useful for low-carb diets. My issues is that, especially after introducing a healthy dose of cinnamon to my coffee, is that I tend to eat very low calorie. Not on purpose. I eat according to my hunger. If my caloric intake gets too low, I can go to bed on a warm night and shiver my butt off, and it keeps me from menstruating (very bad). The solution, add fat such as butter.
I got up one night and added butter and cream to my already-made and stored-in-the-fridge creamed spinach, and I had stopped shivering by the time I stopped eating it. My overall caloric intake was still low, but there is a place for those low-nutrient-dense fats. This is why it's important to know your body. If your hunger level is low, you can't pack all that nutrient-dense, low-calorie food into your stomach. In my case, cinnamon turned out to be a major appetite suppressant, which is why I've lost 40 pounds over the last five months. It was easy weight loss, but I have to pay attention to my body and what it's telling me it needs.
If you read the science behind LCHF diets, you'll discover that feeding the fat actually helps it tap into its fat stores.
Enjoy your butter.
Does someone here have a tip which supplement I couldl take when I stop taking prozac? I am tapering it off right now, I took it for anxiety and depression. After going to therapy, meditating and eating clean I could start to taper it off, but I still think I might need some support, like Tryptophan or 5-htp.
ОтветитьWhat does Max say about Oats? Are they okay?
ОтветитьDoes someone know what Max says about legumes and lectins? Dr. Gundry and many others recommend not to eat Legumes and beans because of Lectines, however Dr. Gundry says if you use a pressure cooker, the lectines might get destroyed and then they are safe to consume. As a vegan, its hard to stop consuming legumes for me.
ОтветитьAmazing interview, thanks for sharing! Btw I love your shoes Dave 👍🏿🔥😎
ОтветитьI learned something new today about healthcare. It's about taking care of your health eith you're well or sick
ОтветитьThe point of consuming fat in a low carb diet is literally to induce satiety. Protein is a very expensive way to get full and is cost prohibitive for the masses
ОтветитьAncel keys lied......!
ОтветитьWe love you Dave! Keep the information and wisdom flowing!
ОтветитьThe best food for your brain is Atlantic mackerel, eel and Atlantic herring. These foods contain over 300 mg per 100 g of phosphatidylserine, a potent nootropic that you can also buy as a supplement... $40 for a small bottle of 100 mg pills.
ОтветитьPublically funded research wastes money and has no motivation to find a cure.
