I live in KY and I’ve heard it’s the only state in the US that doesn’t have gold. But we have tons of quartz.

There's a quarts out cropping in the woods not to far from where I live , I think I might go do a little prospecting.

Ok so at my elementary school there is a whole section of natural quarts and this huge chunk was sitting in the office and I asked if I can have it or I think someone offered it to me because I was rock scientist at the time and they where hesitate to let me have it for some reason and eventually I brought it home and I remember seeing little gold chunks in it and I still have it somewhere.
