Is it TOO EARLY to write off the Cleveland Cavaliers' core or does it still deserve more time?

We got Hunter for the sole purpose of using a 3-4 year window of opportunity. Granted, if some kind of unicorn opportunity comes our way, go for it. But we are pretty much stuck with this core by design…may as well see it through. The only mystery is Ty right now.

The Thunder did it in 2 years. The Cavs are older and haven't even reached the conference finals in 3 years. Face it the Cavs choked. The Pacers are good not great. The difference with OKC last year and the Cavs this year is very ovious. OKC has a roster full of good wings and plenty of good shooters that compliment their primary star. The Cavs have a roster with redundancies at guard with Mitchell/Garland and at big with Mobley/Allen.

I like Allen and Garland as people, but their skill sets do not contribute as much to winning in the playoffs as they do in the regular season. They both get hunted and we've seen it several years in a row. As long as these 4 guys play together that is going to be the story for this team in the playoffs.

We need a solid bench with a point guard that can create his own shot and some key pieces that can defend and score. Our defense needs to get better especially in the playoffs.
