We Have A BIG PROBLEM... Marvel Studios Future Discussion

I think ppl forget there were 4 years between Iron Man and The Avengers. It’s a new saga so they need to rebuild - ppl should enjoy the ride and spend time trying to anticipate how they’re going to tie it all together. Half the fun Is the journey.

I thought Aquaman, Wonder Woman, and Shazam had a good introduction origin story.

The only problem is there introducing way too many things. It’s getting hard to keep track of it all. There is so much new content that is unrelated so we keep getting new introductions to characters and concepts. Really think of each project and how many new things it introduces. It’s exhausting to keep track of.

I think one of the big issues people may be facing is that the first phases focused on characters that people have already known for entire generations (Cap, Thor, Hulk, etc.) and when they finally debuted on screen people were happy to see them represented and integrated in such a way that blew the film industry away. Unfortunately real actors aren't ageless/immortalized like they can be in comics. All you do is reboot them with a new artist.. The MCU has the difficult challenge of bringing in all these lesser known newer* heroes and bringing them together in a similar way but since they are more unknown (Eternals, ShangChi, Kamala, etc.) it's harder to sell them and do them rral justice without a long slow buildup. And people just can't wait for that since they haven't been tried and tested over time like the core Avengers (or XMen) have. So as you mentioned, people really should be more patient and let Marvel work its magic. Have faith in the process. It's all going to come together so have fun on the journey.

Marvel is getting into the wacky comic book side, like it's rebuilding with new and old heroes and villains and setting up new threads. I think when the first family and doom get introduced the base will be ecstatic about the franchise again. And don't geth me started with secret wars

Bit of a random thing to bring up but did the Illuminati death scene in MOM drive anyone else crazy. Specifically the part where Reed Richards, one of the smartest men alive, tells Wanda exactly how they can kill her. On top of that the way he says it!
“Black Bolt here can kill you with a whisper from his mouth.”
Like, this scene could have improved so much just by changing that moment. Black Bolt’s death didn’t need any dialogue. After they fail to convince her to stop, Reed nods at Black Bolt and he opens his mouth ready to scream, then his mouth disappears like in the movie. No one speaks. They all stand there for a moment. Then his head explodes like in the movie. Wouldn’t that be so much better?

I believe that seeing all the heroes become the heroes they are meant to become before they go and save the world in a huge team up like Infinity War or Endgame. There needs to be a build ul before a massive project in order for it to actually work properly. Rushing into things only makes it messy and confusing.

No dude, not all of us are expecting content like infinity war or endgame. I know it takes time but it also took time before, the difference is that it was fun and interesting in throughout phase 1 to 3. Phase 4 is boring as hell.

I agree! People need to be more patient. I have fun just enjoying the new stuff that marvel is coming out with. And I’m totally okay if marvel takes their time building up to the next HUGE movie. I love that they’re doing so many different genres and diversifying their heroes. It will make that next movie even more fun and exciting.

I think marvel will lose a lot of fans until they do something interesting again including me. Moon knight is a snore fest, not connected to anything, it can be in the dceu for all we know. We have to admit that marvel might have lost the mojo.

Plus, they are introducing all the opposite sex of famous characters, just because of diversity and representation, female thor, she hulk, ironheart riri williams, america chavez, ms marvel, moon knight's wife, shang chi sister, eternals, kate bishop, female loki, doctor strange dumb illuminati group. Peggy carter captain America, and on and on....disney is not even hiding the agenda, there's a video where they said it. There is not good writing anymore, we are in the age of representation and diversity.

I can't wait for the xmen to be introduced but let's be honest the only way I can see that happening is in a secret wars movie love all the new content too

I'm sure marvel actually said all the stuff that comes out on Disney is gonna centre on the main characters too and so far they have loki was about loki Wandavision was about Wanda and so on

Honestly, though I don't love every MCU movie, and like most people I don't have time to watch everything, and my real complaint but not that important, is that when I watched Strange 2 I didn't understand what was going on.

The good is no way home and Shang-chi both of them are good dr strange mom was ok lot people are down on every MCU flims and shows that people gets hate like it have like Disney disappointing me for long time which I don’t like is they support Politics for marvel and the lgbtq+ because it going’s make marvel fans so even more angry but ? Definitely one of your better videos. People forget shit's expensive and takes a long time to make, and now that there's more content per year than we ever got before people are moaning that it's not enough. It's a bit ridiculous and entitled. I've never heard someone complain that it took 6 years for Wanda to become the Scarlet Witch. She was my favourite character before that was even on the table.

Not a fan of ms marvel at all, MCU is juggling there projects and want to see what sticks the most let’s be honest lol I think they should have fantastic 4 or X men lead the way to the future

100% agree with all your statements on THIS video! Give Marvel a chance to introduce and develop all these new characters, it's the only real way to pave the next Avengers or big crossover movie! People need to chill the f out! If you just want content without connections there's nothing wrong with that, go follow DC and you'll feel right at home!

I first got Into the mcu when I went and watched the avengers at the cinema when I was 7 with my grandma, I remember blocking my ears every time hulk came on because I didn’t like loud noise😂

I would rather wait another 4 years for the next avengers film and it be satisfying and feel natural, then them make the new one next year and it feel rushed or even good but we know it could of been better if they gave it time to settle. I don’t understand why the fans are so impatient it’s not as if they didn’t have to wait years for the first avengers or years for infinity war, we have been here before so just trust the process and everything will be okay, I think I can turn a blind eye to a few of the recent projects being meh and blame it on covid, and I do think marvel are starting to pick up speed again, tbf the only meh project I think they have done was FATWS, because I thought black widow was okay and eternals was good

Patience is a virtue

People forget that not everyone loved Iron Man 2, Hulk, Thor, First Avenger in Phase 1. Not everyone loved Iron Man 3, Dark World, Ultron in Phase 2. Even in Phase 3, not everyone loves Guardians 2 or the Spider-Man movies.

Phase 4 is absolutely no different. They have to reset the groundwork for where the MCU universe stands post Infinity Saga, introduce great new characters like America, Ms. Marvel, Shang-Chi, Moon Knight, She-Hulk and let them develop. People need patience.

It took 11 years for the Infinity Saga to pay off. We’re not even 2 full years into Phase 4 and people are already aborting. It’s silly to me.

You mention patience and compare it to phase one. When there's a world of difference between then and now.

Phase one had an average of what 12 hours of runtime over 4 years and 6 projects?

What's the runtime of phase 4? We've had 6 shows that let's be generous and say each show is 4 and a half hours. And 6 movies that's let's average to two hours.

That's roughly 27 hours of television and 12 hours of movies. That's 39 hours of content over a year and a half. That's just under the runtime of the Infinity Saga as a whole.

And we're not even done with the year. So how much more patient do people need to be before there's some sense of a cohesive narrative? 100 hours of phase 4 alone?

That's what kills me with this "be patient" argument. How have they released this much content in such a small period of time and have it all feel like a jumbled mess, while simultaneously nothing is happening.

I'm not asking for some big event movie tomorrow. I'm wanting to know what it is they're actually doing. Why are they announcing a fucking Wonder Man show, when there's no clear direction for a character they've introduced like Kate Bishop? When they've done nothing with the sacred timeline breaking? How the hell has Val showed up in 2 projects, and had a direct influence on Hawkeye. Yet, we need to go digging in collider interviews to learn the slightest thing about her after, again, 39 hours and 14 projects into this phase?

How many projects has Sam been Captain America for now? Over 10 and the MCU is still carrying on like Steve has the mantle. We have too look to a god damn cruise liner.

To quote Grand Inquisitor, not entirely - Patience is key. Avengers 3 and 4 were 10-12 years in the making. They did start from nothing and created something that people still talk about. And after that phase, they are again going from 0. It takes time to introduce new characters, new storylines and as fans we should be happy that Marvel is trying new things. For example I like Ms. Marvel more than I expected. I hated What If but that too represented a new idea. Future is bright and even after this or Chris' explanation, I feel like everybody should relate to MCU not being DC !!
