Splinter Review - Off The Shelf Reviews

FINALLY! So many people have sat on this freaky horror movie.

I own this film, it's decent.

I saw this movie back when it released. I was working at HMV at the time and grabbed the DVD after hearing some good buzz and was pleasantly surprised. I rewatched it last October for my 31 horror films of Halloween and still really enjoyed it.

Normally I would agree on the shaky cam but I think in this case that it helps mask whatever the hell the creature looks like and makes it scarier for me, especially the more people it absorbs as it ends up a flailing mass of limbs, body parts and animal carcasses!

Glad to see Splinter getting covereage and Im happy you guys both enjoyed it. Hoepfully some more people watch it based on your review!

I picked this up when it came out as I saw it in my local supermarket for like £3 so I just nabbed it and was actually suprised how good it was.

A little known & pretty good horror flick. It uses elements from "The Thing" & "Evil Dead II" quite well. Very watchable.

the scary thing about this film is that it's not far off from reality. there are fungi (like cordyceps) that will effectively hijack their host's body. it's only been observed in ants so far, but things do evolve...

great little movie... combines best elements from dawn of the dead, the thing with a hint of David fincher body horror, im not sure that's actually the creature at the beginning,
I think its a forest critter that's been infected... but the only show glimmers of it to build suspense

Looks good for an independent movie doing monster horror, and this kind of special effects, I did not know about this movie, but it deserves a watch

I don't remember how I saw this flick, as it didn't get a theatrical release here in the states. Maybe on demand. But i remember being pleasantly surprised by it and find it a shame that folks haven't heard of it.

This movie was honestly great. Randomly put this on one night, and really enjoyed it.

I love this movie. I remember going in completely blind thinking it was gonna be an awful B movie I could laugh at. I ended up really liking it.

I saw this when it came out and remember thinking it was pretty good for such a low budget production. A lot of imagination in it.

i think an excellent movie for you guys is Men of Honor, with Robert De niro and Cuba Gooding Jr.

As I watched this movie for the first time I recognized Jill Wagner from Wipeout, a competition TV show taped in a water park. And I like to see her in Christmas movies from time to time.

Too many things being shot by cameramen who are being attacked by critters. Can't take it.
