Hi... I'm really struggling with the 18° angle my chop saw only goes to 45° and the pallet planks are 4 inch wide ... this might sound thick but I just need help Please do you measure each one spectate or just one and template it on to other pieces
ОтветитьBeen trying to make these stars and the angels just aren't right, have tried 4 times and gave up, very disappointed
ОтветитьI tried and tried again but I was coming up with a star with 8 points, I have just realised you removed 54 degrees, I cut the board at 54 degrees but not I’m gunna try 36 degrees and hopefully it will work lol
ОтветитьGreat job Chris... Just followed your instructions and It turned out perfect. I made a Jig to make 18 degree cut on my mitre saw.
Chris, if I want to make star out of 4 feet side pieces, will cut angles remain of same size? Or do I need to follow some mathematical formula?
Once again, great job... Chris..!
What happen to the wood glue Chris?
Ответитьso I just tried this and it turned into a 6 point star....not sure how or why!?! any help would be great thanks.
Ответитьhi chris. i love this ! can you tell me what angle cuts i would need to do for a 5 point 6" star? i need to make small ones for a project. thanks in advance ! lynn
Ответитьhi chris. ok, i am using small paint sticks to practice with... my mitre saw only goes to 50 deg. angle. so, if i do 1 side 50 deg. do i lower the 18 deg. level side to 14 deg?
ОтветитьThank you good job
ОтветитьWhy not make the instructions to cut a 72 degree miter on one end (the 18 degree angle end) and a 36 degree miter on the other end (leaving 54 degrees). Saying to "make an 18 degree angle and a 54 degree angle" is very confusing.
If anyone is having trouble with this star (and I did initially), cut 72 and 36 degree miter and disregard the 18 and 54 stuff.
Nice use of a radial arm saw.
ОтветитьCool project, smart looking star
Cheers
Tim from wood 4 nothing
Good way to we can learn something
ОтветитьОтличная поделка!
ОтветитьNice job! I’ve looked at so many explanations of how to make one of these as yours is by far the clearest. Thank you :)
Ответитьany ideas on how to join the pieces if you want to make a smaller star? I made one with 7" pieces and all I can think to do other than just gluing is to Pin it.
ОтветитьWOW!!!! Are you an engineer??? So detailed... Merry Christmas... Thanks.
ОтветитьThanks, now I can hang this in my alter for lovely Lucifer.
ОтветитьNice
ОтветитьGood Stuff! I have a version I build with cedar pickets using a similar technique, though I built a jig to use on my table saw. Makes the cuts really easy.
ОтветитьWill the 54 &18 degree cuts work at any length?
ОтветитьThanks for sharing now i have an idea to make it😍 keep it up
ОтветитьEverytime I try to make one for some reason the bottom of the star never matches up. I use the same length and width boards and I cut them all the same angles
Ответитьgreat job...Chris ..I liked so much..yes ,, is the perfect star ..thank so much.for sharing
ОтветитьI'd I'm not mistaken you could use wood joiners that you drive in with a hammer
ОтветитьSince miter saw doesn't go 54 did you cut 18? And for the 18 cut 36?
ОтветитьHello. Can I ask what model Kreg jig did u use? Thank you!
ОтветитьVery cool thanks
ОтветитьWhat size are the screws?
ОтветитьHow do I cut my 18 degree cut on my table saw...do not have a compound miter saw
ОтветитьVery Nice 👍
ОтветитьVery good video. Thanks for sharing. Since Christmas is coming back every year it stays actual. i discovered this video only today.
If I look to the star logically, it seems to me that the 54 degree angle is a constant and the other (18 degree in your case) angle depends on the length of
the wooden parts. Am I correct with that? If so, how can I calculate the necessary angle when working with longer or shorter boards?
Thank you for this video. I was looking for the angles to cut a star and I just found them thank you! You gained a subscriber. 👍🏻
ОтветитьThank you for the video. Without having a degree wheel, how do you determine the angle cuts for 18 and 54 degrees. My miter saw will be able to get the 54 degree cut, but the 18 degree is well beyond. Did you have to use a jig? Or did you use a table saw?
ОтветитьAgain you made it so easy. I live in Texas the lone star state. I will make these for myself and a few friends, I have the KREG JIG and love it. Thanks Chris.
ОтветитьHow long each piece of wood is ? Thank you .From Quebec , Canada .
ОтветитьHi! About how long did this take to make?
ОтветитьGreat video! Simple, well explained! Thanks
ОтветитьWhat angles do you cut n a common miter saw? Because 18 and 54 degrees on a common miter saw don’t work out that way.
ОтветитьAwesome video, thank you for sharing! I will be making this shortly for sure. You made it very easy to do, thanks again.
ОтветитьCool!
ОтветитьThat's thing of beauty! 👏 bravo!
ОтветитьSo how long are the boards before cutting the angles?
ОтветитьVc tinha como profissional ensinar a fazer o gabarito pra cortar essas peças
ОтветитьWhat happens on the width is the angles always the same.
ОтветитьLabeled his angles wrong I pretty sure
ОтветитьI think it must be 36 Degrees and not 18, or?
ОтветитьHow can I attach C9 or C7 Christmas lights to this.
ОтветитьJust found you for the first time, I have tried so many times to make stars, but just can’t get the angles right. After watching you tonight I will be trying this tomorrow. Thank you, you make sense.
