Basin White Brand shampoo and conditioner bars are the best I have found. They're so affordable, don't leave a residue, and are specific to your hair goals.
ОтветитьAmazon has your mini bronzer :)
ОтветитьI'm 47 and have always had oily skin, which has turned into combination skin as I age. It's also very reactive. I swear by Aquaphor at night! (Most stores like Walmart have their own generic version that's very inexpensive!). I put it on as my last step, it seals everything in and has really helped improve my dryness issues.
ОтветитьThe one toiletry item I always take is J&J baby shampoo. Good for face, hair and body.
ОтветитьThanks for all the great videos! I think we would all like info about your story, as much as you would share- I’m an over 50 professional, I work all the time, but have the wanderlust- would love to know how you got here, any thoughts for those of us wishing to slowly shift our lives and take better care of ourselves, focus on adventure, travel, joy- and still pay the bills!
ОтветитьI'm about to try a couple of products new to me that will hopefully work to save space. Once is EC30 shampoo squares (yay, no liquid!), but they don't make a conditioner yet. :( The other product is coconut oil in packets for makeup removal. If I don't like it, I'll continue scooping cleansing balm into contact lens cases or other tiny containers, since I don't use much each time. I have a non-liquid face cleanser (second cleanse after makeup removal) that is the Olay Cleansing Melts. Love those!!! I've ordered the cleansing cloth you listed, as I haven't loved the face erase cloths. Your idea about cleansing balm smeared onto cleansing pads is brilliant!!!! Thanks for always having tons of ideas to try for travel, Christi!
ОтветитьFor the lens cases, do you label them also? I can just imagine me decanting and then not remembering which had what in it 😂
ОтветитьI had some gift-with-purchase/mini containers from Clinique that I cleaned and dried out, then put my makeup primer in one and my IT CC cream with sunscreen in the other. I was in NY for five days, and I still have makeup left in that container. I also washed and reused a travel size makeup remover bottle. I felt good about not buying more travel products, reusing what I had and saving space in my toiletries bag.
ОтветитьI am 70 yrs old. I use Fiera concealer. It is wonderful. Stays on all day and doesn't age you. I also use their apple stem ,Vit C serum, and eye cream that I absolutely love. I really love all of their products.
I use Kitsch purple shampoo and conditioner. I have salt and pepper hair. It makes my hair look great in all water.
That caliray mascara is my favorite too! Best mascara ever and doesn't irritate my sensitive eyes.
ОтветитьI’m in your camp, can’t go out without some makeup on. 😂
ОтветитьI have a packing list that I have created for my basic weekend and for longer stays. I adjust accordingly depending on any special occasions or events during my trip.
ОтветитьKitten paw 😂 and makep erasure.
ОтветитьI've never related more to anything than the first 25 seconds of this video!
ОтветитьI put my contact lens cases in the dishwasher to make sure they are really clean before decanting.
ОтветитьWonder if you have ever tried toothpaste tablets? They are so small and you just crunch them , brush your teeth and that's it ... great if you're trying to maximise space ! Sometimes I just buy some travel size essentials once I arrive at my destination and leave them behind on the last day 😊
ОтветитьThat liquids bag does not comply with carry on requirements. Don’t take my word for it, just fill it and then try getting the same contents in a 1 quart zip lock.
ОтветитьBecause we have to remember…..if you are going to put something in your carryon it has to be about 4 oz. No more. If you are going to put things in your checked bag it can be as big as you want. Then there is the 3-1-1 toiletry bag. Too much to remember.
ОтветитьTimeless vitamin c has a pack of sachets. I bring one along and use a safety pin to poke a little in the top corner. You only need a couple drops and it lasted me way over a week. That will save space. For bronzer I use two faced milk chocolate. The compact has a great mirror that I use to put on my makeup in the hotel when there are many people that need to use the bathroom. Look up Photozyme. They have a serum and a body lotion (still use on my face) that have repair dna enzymes. Helps reverse the start of skin cancer (had mohs surgery last summer -doing all I can now! ) Penn Smith YT has great info. Isdin sunscreen also has dna repair enzymes. Love that stuff!
ОтветитьAn idea for saving a little space: Attach your hair clip to the handle of your toothbrush (like a SonicCare or similar). Thanks for all the tips; this was a great video!
ОтветитьI use all natural organic cold pressed ingredient. I have extremely dry skin. I’m 48. I use youth the people kale and spinach face wash, rose water for toner, aloe vera gel for serum and shea butter (for moisturizer) mixed with red raspberry seed oil (sunscreen) also I use trader Joe’s microblading scrub once a week. I have to admit I have been using aloe vera gel since I’ve been in the fifth grade (my moms 🤫)
ОтветитьI put my face oils and liquids and small glass roller ball bottles.
ОтветитьHair conditioner works for shaving cream.
ОтветитьCaroline Hirons for skincare videos, blog, etc.
ОтветитьBeauty Pie for skincare, hands down.
ОтветитьI like the inkey retinol serum and I'm a big fan of the youth to the people moisturizers
ОтветитьWhat about a brush/comb?
ОтветитьI highly recommend ROC retinol individual capsules for travel. Much easier than your decanting. I also pack a travel size lens cleaner and cloth.
ОтветитьI don’t go anywhere without my tinted moisturizer, I like Josie Marin argon oil spf 47. I have my makeup and skincare pared down but my difficulty is with hair care. I have very curly hair that requires several products to give it some control ,which makes my liquids bag very full for our typical 3 -4week overseas vacations. I do decant and we typically check a bag.
ОтветитьThese strategies are SO helpful!
ОтветитьI have baby fine hair (pixie cut), so hairspray and root boost are musts for me. I use colorscience powder for my sunscreen and foundation. I also have shifted to Bite toothpaste (solid) and use the travel Venus razor with the built in shave cream on the razors themselves, so no liquid for shaving. I also plan to take the Olay hydrolaunic acid washing squares that dissolve in water. They work pretty well I have found and leave my skin feeling amazing. I will also take my Obagi Pro Vit C serum and Elastiderm for nighttime routine. You have given me so many great ideas though for other "healthy aging" routines! Thanks (and I am 54 and from Cary, NC but live in Colorado now. The desert amd high altitude are hell on my hair and skin!
ОтветитьI purchased this trip travel gear toiletry bag last year and about to use it on a trip in a few weeks, so I'm super excited to learn how to play Tetris with it. As girly with super sensitive, dry skin, I don't wear any make-up; however, I cannot leave home without my Clinique skincare products. In the past I have tried several different brands but they always irritated my skin. I have now been using Clinique moisturizers for almost 30 years. My absolute favorite products by them are the Moisture Surge 100H Hydrator, Moisture Surge Hydrating Supercharged Concentrate, Turnaround Overnight Moisturizer, All About Clean Rinse-Off Foaming Cleanser, and their Moisture Surge Face Spray to spritz on-the-go and on the plane. Most of these products come travel-sized already, but I do decant some of their other products by recycling their small containers. Because of your video, I should probably start looking into trying some of their "healthy-aging" skin care products to age more beautifully. Thank you for sharing with your community!!!
ОтветитьJust got back from 5 months with a carry-on. I packed enough for 10 days and then restocked. Unless you're in Antartica, you can find essentials.
ОтветитьI use a small solid sunscreen for body when traveling, downsize my skin care to just a tinted moisturizer /BB, use dry makeup wipes cut in half for eyes and a small "makeup eraser" for the face, depot my blush and favorite eyeshadow, and minimize everything else.
ОтветитьI'm going to Greece soon and have loved watching many of your packing videos. I've gotten great ideas! I just ordered the wonder cloth and quip toothbrush :)
ОтветитьI use minimal to begin with so I don't think this will be a problem for me. BUT I will have to change deodorants. I have been using the thai stick which lasts YEARS but is pretty heavy.. other than that, travel size lotion, shampoo, hairspray. done. So really all I need to do is find a comparable deodorant that is lighter than the Thai stick. I have taken lots of things on prior trips and never used them.. so I am not going to fool myself into thinking I will use the powders and potions that sit in my cabinet and probably expired 10 years ago...
ОтветитьThis is my nemesis. I keep all my full size toiletries in a travel bag and use them that way. I used to just bring my entire toiletries bag with me and checked my bag. It it’s very heavy and sometimes I have a problem keeping it under 50lbs. So, now I started repacking my toiletries into smaller containers and quite frankly, it’s starting to ruin travel for me. I hate doing it, and the small amounts dry out between trips and the containers need to be cleaned out before they are refilled. Spending all of this time, instead of grabbing my go bag is really annoying. Always looking for tips on simplifying this. I know, first world problems. But all of these travel problems are.
ОтветитьAny tips on marking what’s in the contact lens case? I use a sharpie, but it still rubs off
ОтветитьGlasses are my biggest challenge. Because of my eyesight I have to take multiple different kinds of glasses. So it's really difficult.
ОтветитьIt tickles me to see so many of the products I use, on your table!❤😊
ОтветитьHair tools are my problem
ОтветитьGreat video🎉😊
ОтветитьThanks for the info. Hadn’t seen the contact lens cases for transfer- good tip!
ОтветитьI love the Tripped Travel Gear Toiletry bag! It’s great!
ОтветитьI thought I was the only one that stresses out when packing toiletries.
ОтветитьOne product i always take is shea butter .. works as make up remover, moisturiser, body lotion, itches, burns etc. + it stays solid unlike coconut oil ..
ОтветитьA heads up after spending 3 weeks in Portugal and Spain… the hotels, AirBnB’s, etc. provide shampoo and bath gel. They don’t provide hair conditioner. Many do not provide body lotion either.
ОтветитьI also have had skin cancer in the past so I pack a body and facial sunscreen. Per my dermatologist she said to take moisturizer and do away with the vit c, and my other anti-aging items as they really cannot penetrate the skin. Buy the best moisturizer and that’s all. She mentioned Kiel’s was good but so is Cerave. So….as long as you moisturize 😊 I love your personality during your videos, so friendly. I feel like I’m over your house for coffee!
ОтветитьGreat video!
Re: skin care. I love the face cream from Rephr. It’s in an aluminum tube so the footprint is just the plastic cap!
